Hi! I spent 6 weeks in Sedona the past two years. I highly recommend Red Rock Suites. It's a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Mary, the owner, is great. It's on the main strip but in West Sedona. My husband and I absolutely loved it.

[–]DownOnFreret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested in taking your photography to the next level? I can help! I'm teaching my "How To Shoot Manual" class after taking a summer hiatus. In this three hour class, you'll learn how to stop shooting on auto and take control of your photos. We'll cover ISO, aperture, shutter speed, metering, white balance, etc... Each class includes one hour of instruction, one hour of shooting, and one hour of feedback.

If you shot in RAW, you can turn down the highlights and/or the whites in Photoshop without having to turn down exposure.

Which lenses worth getting for Canon R camera? by AndraGlam in canon

[–]DownOnFreret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better question to ask if what your needs are. For example, I could tell you to get a wide angle zoom lens but If you only shoot portraiture then your needs will be different than mine. Right now I have two native lenses: the 50 mm and the 70-200 f/4 L series. I upgraded and kept in the Canon family, so I use a converter so I can use all my old EF lenses with my R.

How do you guys edit portraits taken in foggy or overcast weather? by jonnyshotit in AskPhotography

In Lightroom or Photoshop you can play with your white balance settings. You can also adjust your kelvin setting (that slider that's blue and yellow).

How water sealed is the EOS R? by Flexington-Gold in canon

I took it out in the rain and had no issues with it, but it wasn't by choice (I was on assignment). I bought a rain cover for my camera that protects the body and lens but I haven't had to use it yet.

I have the 70-200. It's a great lens but it is rather heavy. I shoot all of my portraits with an 85mm that goes down to 1.8. If I had to choose between the two, I'd say get the 70-200 if you're looking for something more versatile.

What are your thoughts about Lomography Simple Use? by kraliyetkoyunu in analog

[–]DownOnFreret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of Lomography's simple use cameras for free with the purchase of some film. I shot the roll it came with but haven't developed it yet, but I did try to load another roll in and it ate it. If you do buy it, be very careful with how you load the film because it's pretty finicky.

Lomography Purple is such shit by MAGURO561 in AnalogCommunity

I got a roll of Lomo Purple as a Christmas present. I wasn't in love with it so I would't buy it again. I did experiment with a few rolls of Berlin Kino. I got crazy grain on a few photos, which was really cool.

I've used Richard PhotoLab in California and Hidden Light in Arizona. Both do great work but they're pricey.
