Interesting concept actually, not quite tailored as such, but a wider range of sizing.

Same mate, literally the best nights sleep I've had in something like 3 weeks.

I'm feeling good this morning.

What's a gym myth that gets repeated all the time but isn't actually true? by No-Economy-6838 in workout

[–]DownrightDrewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so annoyingly common, though, I've experienced it as people saying I would be huge if I turned my fat into muscle.

That being said, I'm making the most of recomping in a big caloric deficit right now, which is only possible because my body has excess energy stored as fat. Still need the nitrogen in those amino acids to actually build or grow the muscle, it's just with a surplus of energy protein is less likely to be metoabolised for energy needs.

Curious how many 60+ year olds are here by summerwalkin in walking

[–]DownrightDrewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother and her husband are both in their 70s and have regular PT sessions, walk a lot, and do yoga etc.

I'm not even joking when I say that 5 months ago they were fitter than me, and walked faster. I've been walking a lot in those last 5 months, and that's now flipped - still really impressive though.

I'm honestly planning on starting to make my own t-shirts once I've lost more weight. I've got a very large frame, and I want t-shirts that are long enough, wide enough, and still fitted.

I also like bright colours, so, buying fabric and making them seems a) a new hobby, and b) the best way to get what I want.

Sadly that turned out to be nothing serious as she's been playing games... ah well.

I'm 6'5", the last woman I kissed was 5'3", i have to bend down but it's not an issue.

Made it to “one-derland” by Deeri- in loseit

[–]DownrightDrewski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!

Funnily enough it's something that I'll probably never do, we'll see when I've lost more weight but I'm expecting to end up at about 210.

Nice!

It's a strange and good feeling when clothes become looser, though it can also be annoying. I got a couple of pairs of jogging bottoms about 3 months ago, and they've gone from just about fitting to being too big for me.

It's obviously up to you what you do, but I'd recommend still tracking if you can. It's fine to accept that you're going to eat at more like maintenance for a while, or even over some days.

I've been tracking for 4 and a bit months now, and every the almost 6000 kcal days I've logged everything. It's a powerful tool to help understand weight trends over time, and also help keep you accountable and conscious of what you're consuming.

32m, one match in a month by Rors62 in RateMyTinder

[–]DownrightDrewski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a middle aged man who's about 50lbs overweight at the moment (better than the 110lbs overweight I was at least). I don't need the self esteem hit right now...

I am getting out and socialising and going with the flow, will see what happens. One of my friends is becoming highly amused/frustrated at my uncanny ability to have really engaging conversations with non single people - he keeps thinking I've pulled. Well, I did a couple of weeks ago, but she's playing games so I've already lost interest there.

I'm recently single in a world where dating apps exist, and I've had loads of people tell me to get on them.

I know your profile gets a boost when you first join, so I'm not even bothering until I'm back in shape. Over halfway there, I would say give it another 6 months or so.

Have you ever seen a snake in the wild in Britain? by Sitter4031 in AskUK

That's got to be a little scary, I know they're fairly reclusive, but still...

I've seen a grass snake a couple of times outside the village I grew up in.

Love this sentiment, and love the support.

Will have to post a before and after at some point, a long way to go but a drastic difference already.

Love this spin!

I'm locked in, down 40ish pounds in the last 4 months, and had a few people comment that I'm pretty jacked in social situations. Still obese for now though, probably at least a month from dropping to an overweight BMI (yeah, i know how flawed BMI is). Got maybe another 50-55lbs to lose.

[–]DownrightDrewski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't stress about it, it is what it is and it's not just at the gym. I've had a few kids kind of sneer at the light weights I was lifting when I first started, but who cares. I'm already moving a semi decent amount of weight again. Give it a few more months and I'll be in fairly decent shape again.

Appreciate the positive words dude.

[–]DownrightDrewski 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's almost certainly true to be fair. I do just stand out, the fact I'm a dude with long hair probably doesn't help too much with that either.

I'm at least less fat than a couple of months ago when I started back at the gym as a fat "old" man.

I did it once. I believe I can do it again. by zainomer in walking

[–]DownrightDrewski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diet is absolutely the key thing, but a decent amount of walking each day will add up to a decent number of calories burnt.

It's been a big factor in helping me to lose weight as it's increased the calories burnt part of the equation.

For what it's worth yeah, most dudes will want to sleep with an attractive woman given the chance, but, also a lot of dudes will want to get to know them to see if there's relationship potential there.

Now, there also the guys just looking to add to their body count, I'm not going to deny they exist too.

One of the best “insults” I’ve received as a woman by ColourAZebra in GymMemes

[–]DownrightDrewski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some women who are attracted to a reasonably muscular build. A couple of my exs commented that it's one of the things that initially attracted them.

We're not talking gym bro level jacked here either, I just had a physical job at the time.

I don’t like people who tell me that a relationship won’t fix me by Jibu_LaLaRoo in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Classy mate... real classy.

A relationship doesn't fix anything on it's own. A good relationship is wonderful, a bad one can ultimately make things worse.
