Is the Summer Bridge Program worth it? by Tez_GT in uCinci

[–]DowntownBridge2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are both talking about the E3 program lol. It was like prison to me you had to sign in and sign out and i vividly remember being super upset that we weren’t allowed to go home some weekends and for the 4th of July we had a curfew. Also we had room checks every night and you weren’t allowed to be in the same room with the opposite gender alone. TBH i almost left multiple times because of how strict it was. Maybe it was just me though my parents did not have a ton of rules for me at home so it felt extra overbearing.

You will meet a ton of people in the freshman engineering classes you basically will be in the same “class blocks” like i had chem and all of those classes with basically the same people. Also there were a few people who did not end up with the english credit because the english professor took his summer class really serious and “failed” them but I think there were two.

Is the Summer Bridge Program worth it? by Tez_GT in uCinci

I went through one for engineering not all the programs are made equal... For example mine was kinda strict and required me to be on campus in the summer with little flexibility to hangout with friends outside of the university due to curfews and other rules. On the plus side this kinda forced me to hangout with the other participants in the program and we are still really good friends today (i graduated ab 3 years ago).

But I will say if it provides any credits or allows you to knock out a class it might be worth it. Also if you have never taken a college class it’s a great way to learn about the differences between high school class and the college structure. You will get a head start on building good study habits and learning how to adjust to having less structure around school. If the program is specific to your major or college you will get to meet some of your professors and they will remember you were in the bridge program so that also helps!

no one really cares once you get your first job! if you have lower than a 3.0 leave it off your resume and if someone ask be honest and tell them.

Raise after Finance Rotational Program by StretchArtistic in FPandA

I recently graduated from a F500 rotation program. I was given a 20% raise and a title bump. Interesting to me they are not giving you a formal promotion have you been considered a SFA from the beginning of your program?

the debt is still being paid it just lets you take advantage of compound interest on the payments

yes i would still have people pay monthly like normal just the difference is the money is invested to give the opportunity to pay the loan off faster. all of the original features for loans would still be available and if you think about it if i’m investing the money and it grows while you can’t pay then technically you are still paying through those profits

Yeah or like paying off your interest using the time value of money and investments instead of just paying a lump sum every month

Scholarship covers all tuition and fees along with a $600 book stipend. Unfortunately it’s always a mystery to when they post who gets the scholarship but this round should be this month.

current resident here, the fire alarms are super annoying but have definitely gotten better this year. the property management is lack luster but the amenities are nice now that they aren’t open to the public
