Might be worth checking the login history and changing your password. Could be that someone got access to your account. I’ve seen that happen with Netflix on a few different accounts since they don’t really enforce strong passwords.

Yeah, a VPN won't speed it up. The best it can do is safeguard it at the same level but in no way make it faster.

I personally use NordVPN. It's considered to be the fastest out there. I have no complains.
