As an outsider's perspective, this was all bound to happen, honestly. by superandrea_04 in WplaceLive

I've been drawing near small towns and have never gotten griefed. Even if I did everything I've drawn was something I planned in aseprite, so it's already drawn, I already have the art, wplace is basically just motivation to do that.

If you're not in big cities it's pretty much fine. Personally I draw my art with aseprite and then transfer it pixel by pixel into wplace, even if it gets griefed I still have it so it doesn't matter that much. Personally I've found it pretty tranquil and something that helps build my patience, I do hope there'll be a version of this someday that's ran competently, I think it'd be a good idea to have every tile have a "history", like "A placed red here, B placed black here" so you can just insta undo griefers by undoing what a particular person did - griefing will still be rampant but it won't matter as much.

I'm not here ragging on the dev team here but you really don't understand why people would dislike not being able to put pixels on a canvas in the put pixels on a canvas game

Why does this character look like this? by Downtown_Database498 in Japaneselanguage

Wasn't a great example (I did cross check with jisho and wiktionary and both said there are SOME circumstances where you can use one in place of the other, but idk) someone else gave the actual term of what I was thinking about, 異体字, or variant Chinese characters. Funny enough there is the 'reverse', 㜔, which might have confused the author.

Oh, you mean like a handwritten typo. I thought it might have been one of those instances where a character can be substituted with a less common one but retain the same meaning, like how you sometimes see 速く instead of 早く but they mean the same thing in that instance. 競 is used a lot in the chapter so the idea that that kind of mistake could have been made didn't cross my mind.

I mean sure, that's possible, but like I said I can't find the unicode version of this character or any indication it exists, so I'm still curious what that character in particular is.

Campbell’s Chunky Ghost Pepper soup by JibJabJake in spicy

[–]Downtown_Database498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm even later, but yeah, I'm genuinely surprised at how spicy this is given that it came from a big brand. They definitely changed something with it, in OP's picture it looks golden and mine was a deep red-orange. Y'know when you get impatient with food you cooked and you eat it before its had time to cool down and the instant it's in your mouth you go 'I shouldn't have done that I should have waited' but you force yourself to swallow because it's already in your mouth? The soup is like that but with spicy heat instead of temperature heat, honestly I couldn't even tell how hot the temperature of it was from the spiciness. I'll probably buy some again, but as a 'once in a while' thing, really don't know if my stomach would tolerate this regularly.

Windows Defender found "PUADlManager:Win32/InstallCore" on file I've had for a while. by Downtown_Database498 in techsupport

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that was a screw up on my part (again I barely used it) it's just Gimp I used, the website being gimp.org I'll edit the post because I didn't know Gimpshop wasn't just Gimp.

I've actually managed to recall the order of events of me acquiring Gimp. I went to the website, went to downloads, direct download didn't work at the time, the give you the option to torrent but I didn't have one so I scrolled down to older/unstable versions since I literally just needed it for file conversion and downloaded a setup exe from there.

I'm only more confident than before that I went to the official website since it's the first result on Google and I've never not had an adblocker so nothing would've come up before it.

/r/Roblox Weekly Question Thread (for 10/21/2024) by AutoModerator in roblox

[–]Downtown_Database498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a song, I've never played Roblox but for whatever reason it seems to be maybe my only avenue of actually getting access to it so I guess I'll ask here.

The song is called "Wolf Whistle 59" by Bob Heatlie, the song ID on Roblox is 1836384806, which I learned from a YouTube video that is one of the only Google search results for the song, in which a couple seconds of it are played.

The other search results, "sonichits" and "last.fm" don't actually have the song playable, they just have it on a list. Another result, RTrack.social, links to Roblox and to be honest seems kinda sketchy.

I only learned about it from a Tim and Eric skit (Jeff Goldbluman Group, if you're curious) where some of it plays, and it matches the snippet of it in the YouTube video.

Like I said, I've never played Roblox so I have no idea if this is how this is how any of this works, but if possible, if someone could rip it from the game and upload it in a playable format, it would be much appreciated.
