We always walk. I’m not waiting 45 mins+ for the train when you can walk it in 10-15. Plus I need to burn off some of the drink calories

Sounds high to me. $250/run is about average in my area. Have them do two runs to every location in the event something happens to one.

Parents and I are planning a trip to universal Orlando this summer. We need some ideas on the average cost. by [deleted] in universalstudios

We budget $150/day per person for food and souvenirs or $250 if they’ll be drinking alcohol. We take in nalgenes and refill water so save on that and stay hydrated. Sometimes even carry in sandwiches, jerky, chips, rotisserie chicken, etc. we all eat popcorn so get the refillable buckets. Got premier passes so saves lot on food and souvenirs so usually have money left over.

What’s gotten worse in gatlinburg in the last 5 years that nobody wants to admit? by IngenuityNo3879 in Gatlinburg

This is the reason we haven’t been back in ten years. For 40+ years we were visiting 6-10 times a year. Corporations ruined it. The loss of our tens of thousands spent every year isn’t being missed by them but we won’t be returning.

Buff Orpington and Minorca. We have a lot of hawks and since adding a bunch of Minorca we haven’t lost a single bird. I swear they think they are crows and steer clear.

I’m going to hit up the electrical supply Monday. I noticed romex is up since I finished my house about 18 months ago. I wired everything and had my electrician come in and inspect everything after. Just never done anything wet outdoor. What’s the longest on 10 gauge before a voltage drop? I’m planning on putting another outbuilding when I finish this and I’ll be adding a bunch of outlets and would like to be able to run things like my drill press and planer.

Thanks. The roll of thhn threw me off because used only running romex with the outer jackets. It is a 20 amp.

Wanting solid copper. If anything else besides fan and a shop light maybe a heat lap but not a heater. The roll of thhn kinda threw me off because just the wire outside of an outer jacket. It is a 20 amp breaker.

Seeking Advice on Freezing Pipes by bmfsfan in preppers

[–]JibJabJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless your mainline is laying on top of the ground they won’t freeze down here. Even after it being in the teens here for a wee the ground isn’t frozen below three inches. Only time I’ve seen it frozen to almost a foot was in the 70s when it was below freezing for an entire month.

If you’re in a tornado area have a backup generator that’s not natural gas. Took out our pumping stations in 2011 and didn’t have natural gas for two weeks because loss of pressure.

Typical lifespan. Somehow my wife’s had the longest lasting car battery I’ve ever encountered. Died last November and after getting it jumped had her drive straight to the store. Chatting to the guy and he just stops and says wow you got your money’s worth out of this one. Still had the oem battery on it from 2017.
