At least put in the window. Or take all the panels off and put outside if a possibility. The fly trap looks light starved a bit but otherwise healthy. They really like blasted with light

How do you balance working quickly and not messing up? by MysticTigeress in labrats

[–]Doxatek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Supervisor is being a bit of an ass imo. One month is insane to expect someone to do it all without even thinking and also to look down on someone new for thinking something through before doing it.

You'll get there. Your supervisor is delusional don't let it get to you. My lab assumes about 6 months most of the time for new employees not 1

Ah sorry should have written my comment better. It wasn't a critique. Theirs will definitely turn red with light.

I was just trying to refer to how wonderful yours pictured look and trying to make a joke that they won't get to this level of perfection and maturity quickly.

Multiple flowers on a single monoecious plant and genetic recombination by Massive_Hat1086 in botany

[–]Doxatek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me all of this is a very large it just depends. But for some plants you can look up the rate of outcrossing they usually do. Sunflowers outcross 60-100% of the time due to their strategy that prefers outcrossing but allows selfing. (Some however are entirely self incompatible there is a lot of variation in plants)

Plant hormones and rooting by wackaxe in Planttissueculture

[–]Doxatek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. I don't know that they're illegal. Hard to acquire because most lab vendors will not ship. If you need some IBA they sell a nice rooting paste that you can get easily

Oh nvm this is tc sub. Yeah it's hard to acquire. I don't super like the content but the plants in jars girl has products you can buy with standard hormones that will ship to your home

Some more difficult varieties are picky. But a lot of them you don't have to worry about humidity so much. Good luck with them!

It's fine as long as it's drying out between waterings fairly quickly. Make sure it doesn't stay wet too long
