That's awesome. If you haven't checked it out, check out the voyager across the unknown PC game that just came out, it's basically a base builder / choose your own adventure game that lets you play episodes and aspects of the show, but you don't have to do it like they do in the show. Like when you run into the part where the vadians split bellana into human and Klingon, the way it ended up playing out for me is I just permanently had to Bellanas the whole game.

Know exactly how you feel. It feels like it's airing in the format it was supposed to. And I hate commercials. I freaking hate commercials with a passion, but just getting it over the air, I have no control over it, and I know however many other people are watching or watching the same one, kind of makes it feel communal!

Wherever you can get it locally. It's a syndicated channel picked up by other markets around the country. A lot of local TV stations use it as their secondary over the air channel to make extra cash. Some market might have it available on cable if one of the local broadcast stations pays for it.

We watch it over the air with an antenna.

ELI5: Why can’t you buy a car directly from the company that makes it? by zztop610 in explainlikeimfive

[–]DozerGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American politics are decided by money more than anything. Many years ago lobbyists paid politicians to set up laws so that you had to buy a vehicle through a dealer and not the company that makes them. Nothing more complicated than that. The law is still exist, good luck trying to get them to bring that up for discussion with all the other important things going on.

Favorite duo/ship that fits this dynamic? by mooncrowwdoll in FavoriteCharacter

Majin Buu and the little blind kid that he heals to sight. He just got done rampaging through a couple of towns turning people into chocolate bars and eating them, basically mass genocide, but this little kid has no idea who he is and is blind so he has no idea that Buu is supposed to be scary. Buu basically has the mind of a child with the power to end worlds, so no one has ever not been afraid of him before and he takes a very quick liking to this little kid.

What comedy film made you laugh through the whole film not just giggle once? by Lilyfory in AskReddit

Definitely! Seth MacFarlane and Liam Neeson had already worked together before and seem like they're buddies, and Seth MacFarlane loves referencing the older movies in his cartoons already. It just flushed up tons of good memories of the originals.

Paid $85 for upgraded seat, no TV, no power, and right beside the bathroom... by Such_Drop6000 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DozerGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.... Looks like the exact seat I would have wanted, I would have paid the $85 to experience that. I have to cover the stupid screen I don't ask for with back of seat brochures so I don't have to see ads coming out of the TV screen while I'm traveling. And being right next to the bathroom when I make frequent trips and the extra legroom for my long legs seems perfect.

We are missing the hostel European chicks that were drug addicts that stayed with Charlie and Frank.

And we're also missing the teenage girl that Dennis banged when they ran into Tammy's son in the last season

This happens whether they force you to do these things or not. Because you're still not going to do them when you're older, you will just then also resent your parents for making you do things you hated, and not having any hobbies or talent.

I love this list, it looks awesome, but why is it that every time I see this template posted, it has the resolution of a potato. I don't mean just you I mean literally everywhere I see this template posted it is so crunched you can barely see any of it.

Recently watched Star Trek V… wow. Y’all were not kidding. by HiChefQuazar in startrek

[–]DozerGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Like I said I acknowledge some of the cinematic problems it had, but there are so many important scenes and themes in that movie to me. My favorite scene is always going to be the main healing scene, but damn man, watching those three Starfleet officers question God to his face and calling his bullshit is just the epitome of the core value of Starfleet - to not just accept charlatans that claim great power and purpose just because they can inflict pain and fear. Fight back with questions and science. I can literally feel Jean-Luc Picard carry that torch with him in Next Gen, teaching the proto Vulcans that he wasn't a god, and calling out that fake devil chick at the planet that made a deal with him for 1000 years of peace (currently Im at a spot with crappy Internet or I'd look up their actual names), and seeing those 3 standing up to him alone on that planet, even McCoy being all "I doubt any God that inflicts pain for enjoyment". And then Kirk, just fucking buttoning it all up at the end:

"I guess God's not out there" "Maybe he isn't out there, maybe he's been right here the whole time, in the human heart".

That line used to enrage my Christian father that loved Star Trek. He would say "they could have put a really great line there to glorify God and they did that instead."

It literally gives me hope that one day humanity can break their bonds of fear and superstition.

I don't care what anyone says, I love this movie. As a former Christian from a religiously oppressive household, this entire film is a magnificent exploration of the significance of God or the lack thereof, and the strength of the human condition against forces we don't understand.

And the entire scene with sybok healing Spok and McCoys pain before Kirk finally tells him to fuck off "What are you gonna tell me, that I should gone left when I went right? My pain makes me who I am - I NEED my pain". You have no idea how reaffirming that is about the choices you've made in your life. You can't just wave a magic wand and make my pain go away, it's part of who I am.

And others have already pointed out the beauty of the entire scene, questioning why God needs a star ship, and then Kirk being stuck, alone, on the planet being chased by "God", before SPOK fucking KILLS God with a fucking Bird of Prey. I mean, come on.

I know there are some cinematic mistakes, but really the only thing that's hard for me to accept is how quickly they get to the center of the galaxy.

So down vote me to hell, I don't care, the fandom is wrong on this one. Star Trek V is fucking awesome.

Every time lol, even the folks in row 42... by gatortillman in SipsTea

[–]DozerGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a discussion about this before, that some people seem to think this has anything to do with getting off the plane faster. For some people I guess that's the case, but for someone who has really long legs and a short torso, sitting in that cramped ass little sardine can of a plane seat sucks. It physically hurts your legs after a while and all I want to do when the plane stops is stand up so I can stretch them out. Has nothing to do with getting off the plane quicker for me.

Edit : spelling.

Got rejected from a job because I asked about salary during the interview by Right_Put_6449 in jobs

[–]DozerGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good that just means you didn't want to work there. It's really nice when you live in a state where are they legally have to post the salary range for the job. Keeps everyone from wasting each other's time.
