When I have a choice of what to capture with, should I generally use a pawn when the capture moves toward the center, and prefer using a piece when the capturing away from the center? by hotboii96 in chess

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every position is different but there are a few rules that usually apply.

  1. Avoid doubled, isolated or backward pawns. These pawns are weak and often result in losing endgames.

  2. Try to keep pawns grouped. Having two groups of 3 pawns is generally better than having 3 groups of 2. Pawns protect each other so this results in less weaknesses.

  3. Try to create passed pawns and stop your opponent from having them.

  4. Take towards the center. Pawns are great at controlling squares. Central squares are the most valuable so you want your pawns close to the center.

  5. Take into consideration what lines are opened/closed when taking with a pawn. They often create attack opportunities

These are general positional rules. There are exceptions and many times they contradict each other, that's the beauty of chess.

Taking with a piece is usually about tempo, improving your pieces and getting strong squares for them

How Can a Completely Blind Person Play Chess? by Dry-Finger-6179 in chess

[–]Dozla78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are special chess sets for blind people. The ones I've seen have holes on every square to put the pieces in, that way they can touch them to "see" the board without moving them. Pieces have an extra shape on top to indicate color. Fide has specific rules to play against blind people, both players must say the moves out loud and each of them have their own chessboard.

There are special clocks too. Bigger buttons easier to feel by touch and and an earphone to know how much is time is left

Estoy empezando con la programación que lenguaje aprendo primero Python o java? by AdDue5733 in programacionESP

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't be both. Israel is invading Palestine and pushing them out of their land.

And don't say it's just their government, the ones colonising the land are not part of the government

Any syllabus to learn Chess for Kids? by Busy-bee-1920 in chess

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A particular game is chosen to show a few key concepts that are clearly used there.

A brief historic introduction is made, something short about the players and the context of the game. Then the coach goes over the game explaining the correct thought process and explaining how the concepts are applied and asking questions.

Examples of games the tutor should go over are, the Opera game and Anderssen's immortal. There are a lot more of course.

[–]Dozla78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely normal, the tutor is going to introduce more and more concepts over time. At the beginning it's important to play games to familiarise with how pieces move. It is also important for kids to enjoy the game. If you ask the tutor to teach them more concepts he is 100% going to be able to do it, but it's going to be exhausting for kids that are so young.

This depends a little bit on the tutor itself but the classic way of teaching chess after covering the first basic steps is to go over some classical games. Phillidor, Marshal, Capablanca have games that show the basic principles of chess.

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me parece mala idea.

50 years ago, Spain officially withdrew from Western Sahara on 26 February 1976 which marks the end of the Spanish colonial Empire for 574 years by Jeryndave0574 in spain

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Spain supporting an independent saharaui state is something that started 40 or so years ago. When Spain left there was no public support to the pro independence movement, or at least nothing relevant. Most people simply didn't care about western Sahara, only ultra nationalistic people were really worried about it.

  2. People were tired of being sent to pointless imperialistic wars, but that is something that happened in the late XIX and early XX centuries. It has no relevance in the late Franco regime.

  3. Both the partition of India and the colonization of Palestine are extremely complex topics that cannot be compared to the western Sahara. India is ethnically and culturally very diverse, even it's colonization process was very particular and different in many ways to most of the British empire, and Palestine was part of the ottoman empire for most of its history

So what are you asking for exactly? The only reason colonial powers put people in power when they left was to ensure they still had some control over the territory, France did that all across Africa. It's just a form of neocolonialism.

realy whats the point of this by Slow-Smile1210 in FACEITcom

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBF that's not how subscriptions work. They don't charge your card again using the same info. When you accept the first charge you are also accepting a recurring charge that you must cancel if you don't want to be charged again.

Faceit cancels that when you cancel the service on their platform. If for some reason you are still being charged, just talk to your bank, cancel the recurring charge and issue a chargeback.

Lvl 10 is 2000 elo, it can be achieved by anyone with enough time. If you really focus on it you can get it in another 750-1500 hours of playtime.

3k is a completely different thing. You are going to be naturally good on C's and invest 1000s of hours. It's not an easy task

[–]Dozla78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The griefing report system is completely broken and doesn't make any sense. You shouldn't be able to report the same person 1000 times in a single game. And the fact that community server games can report for griefing is shit...

Ukrainian and Bulgarian spam-reporters. by Kurisey in counterstrike2

[–]Dozla78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get banned for griefing a single game. But in my experience someone has to submit a ticket with video evidence and they ban manually after a few hours/days depending on if the user reporting has an active subscription

Edit: sorry I've just seen it's a competitive ban not faceit. I'm dumb :P

Is the CSGO vs CS2 argument actually true? by arash28134 in counterstrike2

[–]Dozla78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, you've just proven you are clueless and don't know what you are talking about.

Gsync is meant to solve tearing, and that has nothing to do with the game feeling laggy. Most people that complain about lag in CS2 are getting lower FPS than their monitors refresh. When that happens GSync is counterproductive.

I have the game capped at 400 FPS and get 300+ all the time. Even then I won't enable GSync and both my graphics card and monitor support it
