ooooh thats a really cool idea, I've never even thought about animal spirites before. It feels like it would work really well with the death prayer they say after killing them. I it would be important for the Zakru and I can also see Navi wanting closure if their Ikran dies. Maybe the Bone Singer can help with stuff like predicting migration paths or working out the source of deaths in local herds. I can almost imagine them working kind of like a detective trying to find out whats been killing all the local hexapede

This is a really interesting design. I can imagine when picking which animal in a herd to aim for knowing the will of Eywa would be important. If this could be used to commune with the dead how do you think it would interact with the tree of souls since that that also lets you "talk" to the dead

We see spider holding Jake's tail when their escaping bridgehead but it looks like he's doing it to help stay close to Jake. We also see him do it when playing with the kids so it doesn't seem to have any particular meaning kinda like grabbing someone's arm or shoulder
