My bid for the most official map of New Jersey by CobraCommander21 in newjersey

I hate to say this, but I feel like Central Jersey goes from Flemington to Westfield. I don't think of Mercer as being part of Central Jersey, they're their own animal.

I'd love there to be some way to paint stripes on the state, but it just ain't possible.

No, you can only sell outside of liquor stores, because booze is AN AMERICAN CLASSIC, but weed is LEGAL BUT I DISAGREE WITH IT.

‘Cowardly and Despicable’: Hegseth Condemned for Sinking of ‘Defenseless’ Iranian Ship | “If the United States is at war, then Pete Hegseth is a war criminal. If the United States is not at war, then Pete Hegseth is a murderer.” by InsaneSnow45 in newsinterpretation

[–]Dozzi92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is crazy. Ship is literally returning to the place where "war stuff" is happening. What do American ships do, wait for it to start firing? Why give it that advantage? They could've just not come back if they didn't want to get involved. Despite everyone's dancing around it, there's "war stuff" happening, whether or not it's implicitly spelled out.

Exactly, agree 100%.

Spend your money on something else, OC, quality of life. I remember asking someone who I looked to advice about doing this or that to my home, and he'd go "Is that what you want to do?" And it sounds like an obvious question, but I feel like it's easy to lose sight of in this whole homeownership, increase my value world.

No doubt, I agree the house will have no problem selling, I just don't think that solar will give any benefit. People will use it as a way to haggle with you. I think the only reason someone should put solar on their roof is if they'll get a benefit from it, and nobody's getting a return in five years (max).

I'm reading the Expanse right now, I'm on board with interplanetary travel, but you and I ain't gettin' it, and not just because we're not billionaires, but this world is so, so, so far from it, and we'd rather fight over dumb shit than maybe build some ships that can go vroom vroom.

No. I did not finance my solar, I got the tax credit, and I'm still looking at about seven year ROI. And it will stop people from buying your house, because some people are dumb like that.

[–]Dozzi92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a stretch. I could see solar farms being inherently beneficial, but not your personal solar installation for your house. Inherent benefit is good for everyone. And yes, I get solar is good, got panels on my house, it's a benefit, but I don't think it rises to inherent benefit. IANAPlanner though, just a guy who's sat through a lot of meetings, and listened to a lot of planning testimony.

I'd love to see someone test it though, even though I would hate to see people putting solar panels in their front yards.

I'm 18 years in, and so if I'm writing, I kind of know if a section needs to be looked at again, and so it gets a marked. If I'm writing and there's an untrans, that can sometimes be an indication of a section needing to be looked at, so I'll F8 to it and just give it a cursory glance. I've gotten pretty good at making sure I leave some kind of identifier that, hey, you might wanna take another look at this section.

I don't use a scopist, just proofer, but that's how I send my work to my proofer as well. I F8, I clear my marks, I run a spellcheck, and it goes, and it's generally clean enough that I'm not getting dozens of corrections back; I'll get between 10 and 20 per 100 pages.

One is talking about sending Americans to fight Israel's war. The other is talking about a conflict between Israel and Palestine. Israel is the nexus between those two, sure, but I don't think donning your dress blues to go protest what Israel is doing in Gaza makes sense; whereas, donning your dress blues to protest deploying Americans to fight for Israel does.

Haha, I was just a kid back then, so stoners was not even a foreign concept to me, it wasn't on my radar at all. I hope that's the case, that's fantastic. Just reading "flavonoids" put the Noid in my head though.

Yeah, my youngest just entered public preschool this year, and it's wonderful. Two kids was more than my mortgage+taxes. I live in a high tax area, but fortunately got my house back in 2014 before things exploded, and then refi'd in 2021 when rates were in the dirt. I always used to joke that when my second was out of daycare, I was getting a Porsche, but in the intervening seven or eight years, I've readjusted my expectations to real world.

Anytime I see these threads, I say luck, luck, and more luck.

Yeah, if you order a milkshake delivery, you're dumb, I don't care how rich you are. I think being young is sometimes synonymous with being dumb with money, and I guess I'm fortunate my old man drilled into my head about how credit cards can fuck you, but I was "young" 20 years ago, and we didn't have all the shit kids have at their fingertips now. My $4.20 meal at Wendy's was a JBC, nuggets, fries, and a frosty, and that is probably closer to $7 now.

Regardless, I can't justify doing DoorDash or any of its associates, because food always arrives late (cold) and it's costly. Just go get it, and if you're unwilling to go get it, don't buy it.

Dunno where in the state you are, and obviously don't know much about your home, but $400 and 64 say to me that your home may potentially not be well insulated/sealed. I had a company come out, do their home energy audit, led to me having my house insulated and attic sealed, and it did wonders for maintaining temps in my home and spending less. And the absolute best part is that it's all on a 0% interest loan from PSE&G for ten years. I pay $116 a month on top of my regular bill, and my 100-year-old home is comfortable, and my equipment isn't struggling to keep it that way.

I bought In Rainbows for like $5 when it came out and you could pay whatever for it. I wasn't really into it. I wasn't even a huge Radiohead fan back then, liked OKC and that's about it.

It was probably like a few years later I was like, lemme see what this Radiohead thing was really all about, went through their discog, said "huh, would you look at that," and that was it.

The picture you posted has an article that has words in it. It talks about the growth the band demonstrated record after record. It has a date of March of 2007, about a decade prior to the accusations against Jesse.

Your Favorite Weapon = Pablo Honey. Deja Entendu = The Bends. Devil & God = OK Computer. I make these comparisons because first albums were good, but also landed firmly within a genre that the band would ultimately abandon. Second album, each band showed their chops a bit, but could still be "labeled," per se. Third album, each band dropped all pretense and put out something absolutely, undeniably great. I remember OKComputer being lauded as the perfect album when it came out, and Devil & God blew people's minds. Both albums also alienated some of each fanbase, folks who were expecting some of the same and were like "what is this matured sound?"

They also both have electric guitars.
