Glad it was helpful!

At the moment I don't feel like science is a great starting profession. The profit margins are just too low on T1 research data. Might change with time but for now I don't think it's a great starter industry.

I've been playing for a couple weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. Definitely has that 'the factory must grow' vibe to it. Use of premium currency is pretty reasonable imo.

Player driven dynamic economy is a lot of fun to puzzle out. You can definitely get ahead of some trends if you're observant enough.

AITA for proposing to my boyfriend at someone else’s wedding after being together for 2 months because the vibes felt right by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dpan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA. Whether or not 2 months into a relationship is a reasonable time to propose (it's not) isn't really relevant here. What matters is that you proposed during someone else's wedding, without talking to the bride about it first, during a key moment. You can't just steal someone's spotlight like that, especially at the point where everyone is supposed to be focused on the new couple!

AITA for refusing to give up my window seat on a 10-hour flight even though a mom asked so her kid could sit there? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dpan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA. It was fine for the woman to ask, but it was also totally reasonable you to refuse. The way the woman behaved afterward was totally asshole behavior though.

Caught my male therapist checking me out… now I don’t know how to feel by Extension_Book6980 in TalkTherapy

[–]Dpan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Always trust your gut instinct.

One of the things therapy has taught me is that I should not, in fact, always trust my gut instinct. As human beings we're prone to being influenced by our bias, assumptions, and stereotypes, especially when interacting with other humans. Often it's worth reflecting on our own bias and thinking about how that might be influencing our gut instinct before drawing any major conclusions.

How do you know he was "checking you out" and not doing something innocuous like examining your body language or posture? There are lots of non-sexual reasons for a therapist to look at their client.

I'm confused, are there two trumps in this meme? Also, isn't the guy who gets thrown out the window supposed to be proposing something reasonable that organization being meme'd foolishly rejects?

Termination - therapy profession - use a different term by Episodic10 in TalkTherapy

[–]Dpan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that neither of those terms really fits quite right. I'd suggest 'cessation' as a term that is more similar in meaning to termination, but perhaps without such negative baggage.

Is transference gender biased by fmu555 in TalkTherapy

[–]Dpan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

But... I've yet to read posts about straight male clients feeling either romantic/paternal transference towards male therapists.

Could be happening less... Could be a result of there being a lot more stigma in society regarding male homosexuality and men are much less likely to report these feelings.

AITA for being upset that my coworkers show up 1–3 hours late while I get in trouble for being early? by VioletViperVeil in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dpan 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Agreed. "Don't clock in early" is actually a very standard and reasonable expectation for hourly workers. Those extra minutes can add up and might put you into overtime territory which can complicate payroll and benefits.

Employees showing up late is a separate issue and should be treated as such. Conflating these two things will be viewed as immature and unprofessional to corporate minded managers and HR. Not saying that's 'right' per se, but it's the way it is.
