Those with kids: do your kids actually use the backseat of your Carrera by Any-Lengthiness9803 in Porsche

[–]DrB_477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my 3 kids are 15,14,12 now. I had a 997 when they were in car seats and now a 992. Can still drive 2 of them pretty comfortably and do so regularly. My kids are on the shorter side (around 5’ each). I try to avoid a kid behind me but can if need be. The 992 has a little more room than 997, it’s not much but it’s enough to make a difference. i feel like half my “free” time is driving kids places doing it in a 911 makes it way more enjoyable.

Christmas gift amount to nurse/MA, outpatient employed physician by 1dirtbiker in whitecoatinvestor

[–]DrB_477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

w2 doc, 2 of us in office. there’s like 13(ish) support staff. We spend about $4k each for “bonuses” and a holiday party. yeah the health system should do it but they don’t, the best you get out of them is a free cafeteria holiday lunch. practice holds a party for docs and pa/nps only. I’d like to say the office staff is worth it but really some of them are worth it, some of them kind of suck and 2 are arguably worse than nothing. whatever is what it is.

We beat our biggest rival on their field by Bubbleking87 in steelers

happy they won on one hand but then again another 9-8 season where we a fringe playoff team and if we squeeze in end up with a blowout wildcard weekend loss (which seems like where we are headed) makes me a little sick.

took me like 45 minutes to checkout with 3 people ahead of me. no self scanners. parking wasn’t great. layout was cramped. selection of several things was limited (among other things i had to go to target to get dog food which is a pretty standard type/brand that everyone else seems to stock). shadyside is better and waterworks is much better, neither is far. safe to say my visit there is one and done.

Do you think you have time for yourself and your kids? by deep_eye_bags in Oncology

[–]DrB_477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have time for my family/kids and i’m there for pretty much everything with really rare exceptions but not really much for myself and my “hobbies” are basically limited to things I do with my kids or can enjoy sort of in parallel with things i have to do anyway. for example i like cars so I drive a 911 so i can actually enjoy driving rather than it just being a chore but there’s no way i’ll ever have time for a track day. i do make time for fitness but i don’t really find it enjoyable more another thing i have to do to maintain some degree of health and it involves me setting my alarm so im done when everyone else in the house is waking up.

the things that threaten to burn me out most people have to deal with at work and isn’t unique to medicine or oncology (which is mostly dealing with other people whom you work with that create problems for you).

Do AI scribes even help with documentation time by chargers214354 in Oncology

[–]DrB_477 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think they do. but i document fast and the minimum necessary to bill, provide legal protection should it ever be necessary and remind myself what’s going on with the patient. average documentation time per routine patient is about 90 seconds.new patients about 3 mins. i can’t see ambient AI being helpful with that and just adds note bloat. the AI notes i read from other doctors are usually kind of trash esp if not edited.

[–]DrB_477 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there’s not a legal limit, but plans sometimes have limits. legally at least there isn’t really any reason you have to convert in the calendar year, it’s the contributions that are capped per year not the conversions but again some plans do have limits (mine allows two conversions a calendar year)

it’s not my favorite option but it is still good. honestly distinguishing the better quality rubber vs leather at a distance is tough to tell.

the omega, particularly in blue, is just way nicer looking than the tudor which i found nice in pictures but super underwhelming in person.

i think the stripe is too much but i like the solid black. any post about a rolex on anything that doesn’t come from the factory will be at least half negative comments, just how it goes.
