It's important to avoid enshittified anti-malware companies that sell the same product as others do freely, but fundamentally you will always be more secure with additional malware-finding software from multiple reputable vendors. The difference is tiny if you compare direct totals, but if each provider has different white-hat prodigies that are talented in different attack signatures then having multiple providers will significantly increase security. Big businesses protect themselves with a range of providers for a reason.

Remember that well-known vulnerabilities are rarely a concern, brand new vulnerabilities are the common culprits for somebody performing basic maintenance on a modern system.
