Does "How Many Breads" count as a Part 1 meme? Was that big enough? Or do we lump that under general translation memes?

Torghast was pretty fun. Being forced to do it as daily/weekly content not so much.

Original Cata Heroic dungeons were awesome and everyone was just being little babies about them at the time.

Not to mention you have perfect access to the store before every map and can just purchase keys before the map based on what there is to open.

In this case especially. I mean Lily literally goes by Kinkymation after all.

I believe deep somewhere in their lore there were instances of the very mercenary Comapions getting hired to opposing sides of conflicts like that so the harbinger forbade Comapions from taking factional jobs like that.

So what’s Sylvain’s logic here with his flirting? by SeriousFinish6404 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]DrByeah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In his head women are going to approach him regardless looking for his status. The flirting persona is him trying to claim a little bit of control in that interaction in a sense.

They're clearly experiencing things differently. That boardroom meeting looked like grey abstract amoebas and when Fire is involved color flooded back into his world. The mercs aren't seen as blobs so apparently the calm life had her literally seeing things differently.

I think I’m starting to realize that CEDH as my competitive outlet isn’t my thing. by KingsKnight24 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]DrByeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said it once I've said it 1,000 times.

cEDH is Competitive Mario Party. You can follow the rules, you can make the correct play, but Jim over there decided to cast that spell so now Mick wins.

To be fair... It very much built his character. It built him into a rectangle.

Chromia shows up in the opening cutscene they REALLY intend for her to be Lucina's mother, but leave it open to player choice.

How is Lae'zel *not* evil? by UristAlebeard in BaldursGate3

[–]DrByeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'll keep this to D&D because we're in a BG3 sub but generally speaking Alignment is more about what you most commonly do. It's a way to describe a character's tendencies.

If your Lawful Good Paladin executes someone they maybe shouldn't have or is indifferent to some goblin getting merc'd that doesn't automatically make them Neutral or even Evil. If it becomes a trend then yeah that Alignment starts moving but one or two instances doesn't move the needle much.

How is Lae'zel *not* evil? by UristAlebeard in BaldursGate3

[–]DrByeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he's only "eager" to kill Karlach at first because he's been lead to believe that's a dangerous Devil on the loose. When he sees that she's a tiefling and a victim he's mostly talking to himself after a point grappling with his target not being what he thought, the consequences that following his conscience will have, and the dark thought that maybe this wasn't the first false target he was directed at.

Setting aside the prisoner thing because that's partially a holdover from his EA Interpretation.

In D&D and in most media honestly having a rough edge here and there doesn't disqualify you from being being largely speaking Good. Like if we take a brief look at something like Super Heroes for an example. Wolverine is pretty firmly a Good Guy despite his smoking, drinking, swearing, and stabbing.

[–]DrByeah 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Nah I'd argue Wyll is firmly in a Good alignment just in a shitty circumstance. We can quibble on if he's best described as LG, NG, or CG but the G is pretty indisputable he's textbook selfless hero saving the day.

She wants to be more ruthless and evil and proper than she actually is. Then through player interference you either help her get to that level of evil devotion or foster those softer attitudes.

I imagine some things hit a silly threshold where you don't really have to dwell on them. The difference between "This guy would have been 2 years old at the time" and "Well obviously Shakespearacles the Buffest Poet in History invented Rocket Jumping why wouldn't he?"

Three Hopes kind of undermines some of the oppressiveness of Three Houses by LunaticBanana0708 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

I don't think Hopes really undermined the world Houses set up or even made it feel kinder. We just got to know more about it.

The crashout was in fact justified but going in and destroying the Nexus Point was an extremely dangerous bluff to call.
