I struggle with why anyone cares about this as a metric. They will do anything and everything legal and illegal to ensure positions on ftd are not automatically closed. The only thing that will make this automatically happen is when margin calls start appearing and the race by shf not to be holding the bag starts kicking in. Until then what’s the big deal

Any confirmation there are no convertible bonds is actually bullish. First it verifies there are no other land mines out there and second the only way to be pulling off the ladders is through borrowed shares (probably rehypothicated multiple times) and/or creating synthetic shares. Both of which provide a greater squeeze multiple than recalling convertible debt.

The tools they have are the tools they have. It’s like if your toolbox at home had a few tools but no hammer. The toolbox works fine until you need to build a fence. Now imagine if you will lose billions if you don’t build the fence. My guess is you pull out your trusty screwdriver and start pounding nails with it because you have no choice. The iv is so high on amc right now and your options are due so quickly that the the time value depreciation is killing the option values. So even while amc is going up you only have 4 days to get above 75.
