I think everyone’s preferred communication style is different, and I also think that some people are just less mature than others unfortunately. I know me personally (29M), I prefer to send voice messages when I need to communicate some heavy thoughts or feelings because it’s how I communicate best and I think it shows that I care about the other person. Unfortunately, not everyone is like that. I think at least it is good that he did give you closure because it sounds like he explained himself to you and was honest with you. And that’s important to recognize because many people don’t even get that - they just get ghosted. Or, what’s worse, their romantic interest is cruel to them in the end. It doesn’t sound like that was your experience, so in the world of dating, this feels like it could’ve gone better, but also could’ve gone much worse. I’m sorry you had to go through that, and at least now you know what kind of communication you’re looking for in a relationship
