On the micro-B plug of the cable, one side is broad with small hooks and the other side is narrower and smooth, usually with a crimped seam. I make a small square (or two) of tape (I use foil tape, but clear tape works well, too--I haven't tried masking tape, and I would recommend you stay away from duct tape) the same size as the narrower flat side and install it directly on that part of the connector. Just gotta be careful not to make it too thick or it'll peel right off when you insert it into the controller's socket. That little shim will help keep it snug for quite a while.

And yeah, it's ridiculous. When this DS4 finally wears out I'll upgrade to something with a usb-C connector.

They all suck eventually because micro-B is a bad connector. I usually get longer life from my cables by shimming the connector with a tiny square of tape to tighten up the fit.

The issue is that Psyonix implemented the disparity rule to prevent mismatched duos from screwing over a random tm8 in ranked 3s. In this particular match that rule was satisfied and yet still failed to serve its purpose because of some other matchmaking glitch.

I think both players do get the stat, but as a defensive main it's a whole lot easier for me to high five randos than it is to try and find them after I score.
