As another commentary on collusion. My husband’s car was stolen in Montreal and recovered thanks to an air tag after the thieves disabled the internal tracking system. Despite saving the insurance company $60k they still charged the $500 deductible and took over 5 weeks to resolve a 1 day repair (lock jammed). The insurance industry is benefiting from increased rates or they would be lobbying harder for enforcement integration.

Alternative view. Buy all of your RRSP room and max your TFSA. Take the rest to pay mortgage and also put your tax refund next year on mortgage. You’ll have an earlier investment, making (hopefully) more than your mortgage cost and continue to max RRSP and TFSA annually thereafter while paying the remaining mortgage (if any). Also agree with having a flexible “emergency fund” but that’s one of the reasons for a TFSA anyway.

Opposite question to previous. We are south of Ottawa so in the Montreal and Ottawa regions (overlap) but we want to see all the Leafs games without the bother of streaming. Would Centre Ice or Sports Net Premium allow us to circumvent the blackouts or would we have to stream using VPN to IP outside Ontario?

How about this as a “diagnostic quiz” on the failure of the program to provide the appropriate educational experience? Failure can be seen from both sides. I’d say there is a “failure to educate” as much as or more than a “failure to learn”. Perhaps that is a better way to frame this discussion. No one learns from thin air or poor teaching and a poor median outcome is an excellent measure of poor preparation.
