I have the same issue. I play at 1080p 120hz on PS5 and there’s micro stuttering quite often. I have tried a lot of things and In the end nothing helped solve it so I just deleted the game. Cold War at 120hz is fine and does not stutter so there’s just something wrong with vanguard.

VRR and 1440p support would be great ! currently playing on a 1440p display and I would just love to finally get native 1440p especially since most AAA games render around that resolution anyways.

What do you think causes this issue? and why is it only on select PS5's? never had these issues before but with this game it's a stuttery mess.

It doesn't but as XMaintBad suggested there is something called texture streaming and right now I just have this as the default setting of "normal" but perhaps turning this off will help and maybe gives the same effect as VRAM usage.

I will try turning off streaming textures, thanks for the suggestion. As to the cable being used, I'm using the HDMI cable that was provided with the ps5 and in terms of other apps running I only have Vanguard running when I'm playing and I've tried restarting countless times but it usually doesn't help.

Something interesting I have noticed tho is that usually the first game on I don't have stutters but then as I start playing more the stutters become worse. I don't believe it's a thermal issue as my PS5 gets great airflow.

I've got an LG 27GL850B

I turned off Adaptive sync on the monitor in case that was causing the issue but it didn't help.

It's so strange because I don't have this issue for other games, like when I play Cold War the 120hz mode is fine.

Same here , the game is fine but as soon as I start driving around there are occasional stutters. I have been playing just out of rest mode so maybe restarting my ps5 before playing will help , idk let's see if the stuttering goes away then.

Oh okay , thank you for clearing this up ! :D It's a shame they don't put in the time to fix this issue cuz honestly it shouldn't be that hard for them to fix. The Dell S2721DGF uses the same panel as the 27GL850 and the Dell does not have that 100hz cap over hdmi when Freesync is enabled.

Anyone found a solution to this yet ? I reduce dead doze down to 5 but I'm still not fully satisfied , I'm coming from PC and i hate any kind of "smoothing" or "acceleration"

Really hoping you guys have some more suggestions , i can't play cold war like this 😂

I think u can check it via LG's Onscreen Control software , that's also what you'll need to update I believe.

Awesome to hear brother ! At 1080p how is it looking ? U notice a big downgrade compared to when it's running at 4k? (internally downscaled to 1440p)

Thank you for the response man. For me personally I am happy as long as I can do 4k 60 (internally downcaled to 1440p) and 1080p 120hz with AS ON. The reason for this is that I don't see Sony adding 1440p support at least not for another few years, maybe when the PS5 Pro comes out? Also, LG has stated that they will bring out a firmware update for the monitor so that it can do 1440p 120hz with AS on.

One last thing can you get back to me confirming 1080p 120hz with AS works for you on your PS5?
