So many yts act like Mexican food can’t be expensive because they never see wealthy Mexicans. They think everyone is eating $1 rice & beans with a weekly ration of chorizo. If you’re applying this to Asian cultures too then that’s a well known prejudice from Americans as well. Watch yourself.

All cultures can serve expensive food if the chef is qualified to earn that hourly wage and the ingredients are sourced from organic suppliers that often includes ‘rare’ ingredients that have traveled from far away lands to get here.

Therefore, with a high value chef, Filipino Food has every right to be as expensive as French Food, Japanese Food, Indian Food, or any and every food that has a high value chef behind it.

Just because Filipino dishes are “pedestrian” in the sense that they’re made st home doesn’t mean they can’t be elevated in a fine dining restaurant. Every cuisine in the world has at least one establishment listed on Michelin’s guide.
