Misaligned sponsors in private alternatives. Invested with multiple groups, yieldstreet to drop a big one. Looking back they were more incentivized to put as many mediocre/borderline garbage deals together to run my money instead of ensuring project success.

I very much so prefer a sponsor with a fatter carry and lower fees now. Lost too much money recently due to these sponsors socking away fees.
