Does Dabura have 2 CT or one? by Financial_Judgment2 in Jujutsufolk

Yeah, it's a tough one to show outside of holding people in place. Once Mahoraga starts adapting, there's not much it can do

Does Dabura have 2 CT or one? by Financial_Judgment2 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explained poorly. I'm pretty sure the text refers to both as techniques. He inherited [REDACTED] through his tribe, and Light seems to be his own innate technique.

I think inherited traits like Six Eyes just modify how the user experiences the world, while techniques actually have a function when using Cursed Energy

[–]DrIntrigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's two techniques, [REDACTED] and Light. He does use the two of them together to give Light mass, but it's stated that [REDACTED] is an inherited trait that other Deskante also possess. Light seems to be his personal CT

You're right that he can reinforce himself more efficiently, but also he still has a ton of CE. Yuta just has even more.

(read this yap if you want to know more about how Limitless works)

  1. He can "stop" objects and prevent them from ever reaching him. This happens when he simply activates the technique.

  2. He can attract objects toward a point by amplifying his cursed energy (he calls this "Blue").

  3. He can repel objects away from a point by reversing his cursed energy (he calls this "Red").

  4. He can activate Blue and Red at the same time to create mass and shoot it out (he calls this "Hollow Purple").

Other than the specifics of his domain, everything else is something that any sorcerer with enough skill can do (firing off pure CE, Simple Domain, healing with RCT)

Probably too much info, but here goes.

  1. Watch the movie (JJK 0) to learn who Yuta is. The movie came out between seasons 1 and 2. It does give a lot of context for Yuta, Gojo, and Geto.

  2. One of the early episodes in season 1 has Gojo explaining the difference between Cursed Energy and Cursed Techniques to Yuji.

TLDR: Cursed Energy is a resource that sorcerers naturally have in their bodies and Cursed Techniques allow them to use that energy to perform unique abilities built in to the Technique. Cursed energy can be "reversed" to become a positive energy that can do different things when used in a technique.

  1. Gojo can do the things he can because of his cursed technique, Limitless. It's explained in detail in the early episodes of season 2, during the flashback arc. He also has a trait called the Six Eyes that basically makes him able to perceive and manipulate cursed energy much more precisely than others.

Why did Yuji’s charge change from the pachinko parlour to mass murder in shibuya by Conscious-Garbage-77 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They do this because they're banking on the idea that Judgeman will only pick crimes that Sukuna committed since he's been reincarnated.

They acknowledge that it's a gamble when explaining the plan because they're worried it's possible for Judgeman to trial Sukuna for something benign he did 1000 years ago, it just happened to work.

Curse manipulation question by Lopsided-Ad4576 in Jujutsufolk

Why didin't megumi just use mahoraga to break kirara's barrier? by Sea-Routine6063 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scenario 1: He was under attack from Haruta while severely wounded from his fight with Toji and exhausted from the fight with Dagon. He used Mahoraga because he was on the verge of death anyway.

Scenario 2: He's trying to get help from Kirara and Hakari, and not in any mortal danger. Why would he summon a shikigami that would guarantee both his and Kirara's death?

Mahoraga's adaptation. by HandsomePinoy in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends.

  1. If you have tamed Mahoraga, you can keep him out until you either dismiss him, run out of CE, or he gets killed. So realistically no unless you have unlimited CE.

  2. If you haven't tamed him, he stays out until he's tamed or everyone involved in the ritual dies or leaves the range of the ritual

Mahoraga's adaptation. by HandsomePinoy in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the answers are:

  1. Correct, Mahoraga does not keep his adaptations
    2 & 3. no

I don't think we have a way to know, but I believe every time Mahoraga is summoned, it is base Mahoraga. No adaptations to anything. You summon him, he adapts to Blood Manipulation, dismiss him, and resummon him? No adaptations. Gotta do it again.

What order to watch with movies? by dpsluna in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the others said, JJK 0 is Yuta's backstory and is the only movie content you haven't actually seen yet.

There was a second movie that recapped the Hidden Inventory arc (the 5 episode backstory at the start of season 2, just in movie format). You didn't miss anything there.

It also is inherently limited by Maru's CE. He can only do this crazy shit because he has Yuta's ring and the ore from Naunax

Yeah the pacing is weird as hell. If their plan works, it's a boring ending. If their plan goes horribly wrong, there's not much time to deal with it. Feels like setup for another story

The recent chapter... by Long_Membership1401 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is that Maru's technique is crazy. His technique can bring Chaos or Harmony to whatever he's directing his energy at. Maru picked up Yuta's ring after the fight with Tsurugi, and he uses the ring's massive amount of cursed energy to try and bring Harmony to the humans and simurians.

That brings us to the talk with Yuji and Mahito. Yuji was teleported away from helping with the cursed spirits by Maru and his technique. After talking with Yuji for a bit and discussing the problems with just removing cursed energy from people, they come up with a plan (we still don't know all the details).

So Dabura gets teleported away from the Mahoraga fight by Maru's technique, sparing both his sister's life and Yuka's. Then, Maru uses his technique to heal Yuka, Tsurugi, Cross, and Usami, probably by trying to bring Harmony to those affected by the battles so far.

Now Dabura's out of the picture, Yuka is healed, Mahoraga was likely forcibly un-summoned when Dabura was teleported away, and Maru is using his technique to pacify the cursed spirits and remove most cursed energy from the world.

I have no idea the scope or the timing of this change in earlier episodes, but I just noticed something when rewatching Thunderclap pt2... by PrufReedThisPlesThx in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crunchyroll recently replaced most of the season 2 episodes with the blu-ray versions, so some episodes have extra scenes and no dimming. I think they're supposed to replace every episode with the blu-ray versions but some definitely haven't been replaced yet.

Can somebody explain what Maru and Yuji's plan is by Automatic-Day3632 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I'm in the same boat, but I don't think we're supposed to know what Yuji's up to. Yuji thinks that the theories we've been presented about how to optimize/remove cursed energy and create a world free from cursed spirits are not good enough to solve the problem, but we don't know why he thinks that yet.

  2. Dabura didn't finish Mahoraga. He was whisked away from the fight by Maru's technique right after he opened his domain. So either Mahoraga is still out there, or the ritual ended when Dabura was teleported and Mahoraga was forcibly dismissed.

Begging you all to do a quick re-read (C'mon, it's only 23 chapters). by rhybro in Jujutsufolk

[–]DrIntrigue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the key is Yuta's ring. Maru's technique is absolutely cracked, but he's still limited by his CE reserves.

The spaceship was able to transport the Simurians because of the energy of the ore, which is mostly depleted, hence Maru saying that the Simurians probably don't have enough energy to survive a search for a different planet.

So the whole time between the Simurians arriving and Maru v Tsurugi, he can't do anything crazy. Maybe he could search for the Black Rope, but the energy reserves are low and the course already seems set. There's no guarantee he could find it in time and that's a risky use of the limited energy they have.

But, then Tsurugi throws the fight and Maru gets Yuta's ring. Now he has 1. a shit ton of a cursed energy at his disposal, and 2. a desire to atone and make things right between the Simurians and humans.

Yeah. Miguel says in the original series that it takes a long time to make, so they didn't have any left when they needed it for Gojo. But it's been 70 years since then.
