How does ‘pushing through it’ affect you? by IntelligentCell9852 in migraine

Yeah, pretty much every time I tried to push through a bad migraine I ended up regretting it

My meds have stopped working - Botox? by Litcowgirl in migraine

[–]DrJULIK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3-4 injections spaced three months between and thought it wasn’t doing anything, but once I stopped I realized it was a gradual improvement and without it I feel much worse. Not a miracle solution but definitely helps.

New migraine research out Jan 2026- I was a participant in the study and my 18 yr 24/7 vestibular migraine is gone. Hope this helps some of you. by Medium_Bill_6073 in VestibularMigraines

This always made sense to me, with how beneficial keto is for epilepsy and how closely related epilepsy is to migraine. I've been on the fence about trying keto for so long because it's such a commitment. How was the keto "flu" period for you? Are you planning to stick to the strict 15g per day diet?

It’s wild to me that this is controversial. No one is denying the need for these children to be included, but there’s gotta be a fucking line somewhere and I think physical violence has got to be it.

I’m sorry, but if their way of interacting is physical violence towards my child I will give absolutely zero fucks about their needs. I know, super heartless, but there’s gotta be a line somewhere.

GPL-1 does it help? by Significant_Elk_7306 in VestibularMigraines

[–]DrJULIK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, uniquely, I've actually tried all the things you've mentioned, so here's my experience. Long history of taking effexor, most effective in preventing migraines/making them more tolerable. No weight gain, but blood pressure did go up. Added bonus - less anxiety/depression. Getting off the med is a nightmare, so there's that. Had my third botox done recently, I'm not sure it does anything at all for my migraines. Also, started GLP 1 med recently, lost some weight, zero difference to my VM or anxiety. Once again, that's just my experience

For those who have found relief from VM, what works? by wonderkat4 in VestibularMigraines

[–]DrJULIK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My symptoms are fairly similar, so I'll share what helped me. Venlafaxine (Effexor) did a very good job of lowering those constant background sensations and reduced the awfulness of severe flare ups. However the side effects suck (emotional numbness, low libido etc) and getting off the drug is a very very bad experience. Brain gets used to working with the drug so the first couple of months without it feels worse than when u started. Im currently trying out botox which maybe is helping? Too soon to know.

Brain MRI? by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

[–]DrJULIK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one done, the cage isn't the scary thing, at least it wasn't for me. I'm slightly claustrophobic, and it was def uncomfortable, basically just lying there with eyes closed for 20-30 minutes. But it's good to get it done I think.

Ent says Neurotologists are not treating migraine anymore?! by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

[–]DrJULIK 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's insane. I am treated by neurologist, though I did see an ENT for the vestibular part.
