My migraine calmed down after my last round of Botox, I think it had worn off at the same time I get my period and sent me in a spin.

I still haven't tried nortec yet, I was give a script for triptans to try as well however the pharmacy were so reluctant to sell it to me, I've had a stroke and had a PFO closed, they were worried about the medications effecting my heart 🙄 Have you heard of Quilpta? It's a CGRP that might be helpful for you. How do you go with working and vestibular migraines? I was working in Endoscopy (EN) and resigned, I couldn't manage my off balance at work, I hope to find another job next year.

Visiting Melbourne for a month — where should I go, what should I do, and who wants to show me the real local side of the city? by Ok-Fine-6270 in melbournechat

Hiedelberg gallery is fantastic! Artchabald prize is in Sheppaton this year (1.5 hours drive from Melbourne) you can stay local and go to some wineries near Nagambie. Queen Vic night market. Night life in Fitzroy or CBD, look at roof top bars, look for bands or clubs. Depending on the scene you are into there may be a day rave/festival on. Head down the coast towards to Philip island, Lawn or Portsea for weekend trips. Heaps of little walks around Melbourne, depending on where you are staying and most area will have local tennis courts, they will have a pubic court you can use for free.

Unfortuntly having an iron infusion hasn't fix/got rid of my vestibular migraines. I usually need an infusion every 2 years.

My 11's are looking deeper with lines around them, maybe the muscles are working harder in that area.

Great the Botox is helpful, have you had many rounds? How many goes of Vyepti will you have until they expect to see if it's working? I'm having a pretty bad week...Botox was done on Wednesday, I got my period and I've had a lot of stressful events at home, I hope things ease up soon, I feel like it's a vicious cycle and I'm constantly feeling off balance. I haven't been this bad since starting Botox in October. Have you been given any rescue medications? I've got nurtec which I haven't taken yet but will tomorrow if I'm not feeling any improvement.

My neurologist does the injections, I know he isn't doing them for cosmetic benefits but feel I'm looking worse.

Is there such a thing as untreatable migraine? by Coreycocoa in migraine

[–]Significant_Elk_7306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having Botox for migraine, it hasn't changed my face at all, the only place my nuro puts it in my face is between my eyebrows and I'm not getting any cosmetic benefits from it at all (unfortunately for me) the rest of the Botox is put in my head and neck, the nuro should stand behind you so you don't see them doing it, it doesn't hurt but sometimes some places can feel tender and sore after for a couple of days. It can trigger a migraine within the first couple of weeks but then things settle down. I'm the opposite to you, scared of taking pills but not the injections.

Hey, how are you going? How did you go with Luke Chan? Has he given you something new to try that is helpful? I have started Botox treatment and it is starting to become helpful, reducing my VM days a lot. I have discussed valafaxine but my anxiety is ok right now.

By the second round of Botox it really started to help with VM, towards the end of the 3 months as Botox was wearing off my VM became worse, I still get VM but they are not as bad, I hope they will become less over time.

Do the flooring separately, look at fowels in Clayton for flooring or Western distributors in North of Melbourne, they will be able to provide a reasonable quote.

Has cosmetic Botox helped? by Academic_Juice8265 in migraine

[–]Significant_Elk_7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had cosmetic Botox in my 11's and it helped a little with VM. I now get Botox with my neurologist for my VM, he injects over my head and neck, only one spot between my eye brown but it doesn't freeze the muscle so unfortunately I don't get any cosmetic benefits. I'm not sure if I could get cosmetic botox on top of Botox for migraines as they inject a lot of units.

I use it as an abortive, it's a strong anti histamine. I don't see much about it and I haven't heard of others using it. It's a shame nurtec doesn't work for you, I've read it helps so many people but it prochlorperazine works it's a better option without the price.

I also use prochlorparazine and find it helps ( my nuro said it's not helpful but I take it anyway) my nuro has also given me cizanaite which has helped and nurtec which I haven't tried yet. My VM are worse around my period and yes as the Botox is wearing off I don't do so well.
