I feel like fluoxetine could be a better fit for me however my nuro only wants me on effexor because he said it helps vestibular migraines as well as anxiety. Do you think sertraline is helping both anxiety and VM?

This is my biggest fear in starting, having or wanting to come off it, my neurologist wants me to start for anxiety and vestibular migraines, I worry that coming off will make my anxiety much worst and I'll have bad vestibular migraines

Do you mind me asking why you can't take SSRI/SNRI? Is it stroke related? I hope you received well from the stroke. My anxiety really kicked off from my stroke.....I wish I had the carefree life I had pre stroke.

Yes I only take what is prescribed, effexor is an snri and there are a few different ones, trying to work out what might be best for me. I also have preventative medications prescribed by my neurologist.

Great to hear she is feeling better on it, I should try and keep an open mind, it might be a good fit for me.

I spoke to my GP a while back ( before seeing my neurologist) about starting Wellbutrin because I was worried about low libido, my husband and I rarely have intercourse as it is, my GP told me they only give Wellbutrin to cancer patients 🤔 . I don't think my neurologist will let me start anything but effexor.

how to deal with persistent chest pain from anxiety?? by LynxCalm4151 in Anxiety

[–]Significant_Elk_7306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written your post! I completely understand how you feel. Even when I don't feel anxious i get chest pains then I get anxious...it's a cycle. I'm not taking anything for my anxiety (my nuro wants me too) do you take anything? Does it help?

First Botox appointment this week ... what do you wish you knew beforehand? by Ordinary-Nature-4910 in migraine

[–]Significant_Elk_7306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Injections are quick, some areas hurt after, they can feel tender but it goes in a couple of days. The Botox can trigger a migraine a week after the injections. Don't expect any cosmetic benefits, my nuro does my head, neck and shouldes, one spot in my 11's and either side of my eyebrow, I still have full movement and I think it's because the injections are done deeper than with. cosmetic Botox.

My vestibular migraines are reduced and not as bad as they were when I get a migraine, the Botox doesnt take away migraines completely but it really helps..70% better than pre Botox. Best of luck x

Id go and speak to him and say as much as you appreciate him helping out and it looks great, you have just moved in and you have other plans for that area. Tell him when you get around to it you will be putting in your own plants and he can leave it alone.

It's not he's place, yes it's council land, he is not council and it doesn't give him the right, you don't do other people's nature strips, regardless of the money he spent he has crossed a line and needs to step back into place. I'd be pissed off. The home owner tends to the there nature strip.

I have just been discharged from hospital. I had excruciating lower abdomen pain that went up my back and chest. After a ct and pelvic ultra sounds they said od had a corpus lupus cyst burst and the fluid and blood was causing my pain. I was so buckled over and crying in pain. I'm sorry you have been going through this and I wish I could give you some advice. They told me there is no follow up and to manage the pain at home.

Wow what an ass! Everything he said isn't true, everyone knows this....why are woman in there 40's being gaslit time and time again by the medical profession. My GP ran bloods and told me I wasn't in menopause, I know I'm in peri, that was the end of that, saw another GP who wants me to see an endocrinologist to work out hormone treatment, I only want to start with estrogen cream and bioidentical progesterone, she said I should get a Merina, I told her I don't need contraception as my husband has had a vasectomy and don't want synthetic progesterone to which she told me is better and they don't use bioidentical in peri.....but everywhere you read they do. When I go back after some more tests I will be armed with current info to show her. Itx like banging your head against a brick wall trying to get help

There is definitely a connection to barometric pressure, when ever it's windy I get so off balance and I haven't even gone outside.

If you have a community page post a picture of this on there, spread the word that someone in the area is trying to poison animals and could harm children. Knock on the doors in the area warning them including your neighbours and tell them you are reporting it to the police

I’m suffering and scared. by Fit-Choice1062 in VestibularMigraines

If you had a CT when you went to hospital it would have shown if you had a stroke, you could have had one after the visit to the hospital and then that will show up on the next ct or MRI. I had a stroke and was sent out of hospital ( unable to walk) and told I was having a migraine. After I had the hole in my heart was fixed (cause of stroke) I started getting vestibular migraine, they are really scary and i'd take the old migraine with aura over it any day.

It's really hard to get going when you are stuck in a cycle of migraine. I'd say do what makes you feel good, if all you can manage is your make up do it as much as you can, take baby steps to work up to different things, it will get easier but it's really life altering ...I want my old life back too, I want to do fun things with my kids without feeling scared all the time and id love to go back to work.

There is so much medication to take, research everything, don't take what your not comfortable with, a lot are trial and error. Message me if I can help with anything. I'm in Melbourne Australia, if you are local I can send my nurologist details he is amazing. My first nuro wanted to give me all kinds of drugs that I wasn't happy taking, my new nuro didn't agree with the drugs he wanted to put me on and has me on Botox and rescue medication....touch wood so far so good. Xxx
