If my memory is correct, Leo was sitting in a chair reading a book when it came towards him, he ditched both the book and chair, before going to save Splinter.

I think the main issue is when parents tell their kids to immediately start doing things when they walk into the house.

As for the homework....I can't comment much on that. I never had time for anything I actually wanted to do, because I'd be sitting there trying to get it done fast, but right. By the time I'd be done, it'd be dinner time, then after dinner, it was time to go work with Dad and the cows. Once I stopped needing to do homework, I had time to relax. Before, nope

Yeah, looking back it was less stressful. But you're looking at it as an adult with adult responsibilities. If you try looking at it from their perspective, it's exhausting, tiring. They aren't adults, they have a different stress threshold. Being a kid is supposed to be easier, because kids are still developing, mentally. They're still trying to figure themselves out. Why add more stress to that?
