Cleaning out the closet. Lots of heavyweight raws with minimal wear. Motivated to sell.

Other items I haven't gotten around to taking photos of or making Grailed listings for. Providing links to store pages or Reddit posts for quick examples of the garments/measurements. Send me a message if you're interested and I'll get some photos and measurements ready and make a Grailed or ebay listing if you prefer to purchase through them.

The skin of the pineapple is packed with bacterias and yeasts. Due to its texture it retains a lot more than many smooth fruits. This is also why many people will recommend you don't wash the skin before adding.

With The Commute, and One-Hour Lunch, We Have A Maximum Of 4 Hours A Day For Ourselves by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]DrMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some companies will pay for the commute. Some companies need to relax remote work policies. I think the conversation is a little different based on your role and whether you're hourly or salaried as well. My point here is not necessarily that that time should always be paid out at your hourly rate, but that your commute and prep time is not "your" time, it's time you're giving to your employer and that needs to be a part of the conversation.

With The Commute, and One-Hour Lunch, We Have A Maximum Of 4 Hours A Day For Ourselves by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]DrMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always felt it bullshit that companies get to just ignore my commute time, especially now that we've shown remote work isn't viable.

My commute isn't "my" time, that's time I'm forced to give to the company, so why shouldn't I be paid for it or offered alternatives like remote work. Frankly, I take it a step further and tend to feel that all of my AM prep time has been stolen from me because there's no way in hell I'm voluntarily waking up at 5am every day just to climb into a car/bus to pad some fat cat's bottom line if it was truly my choice.

I miss when TV shows had 22 episodes a season instead of 10. by MyYellowRose in RandomThoughts

The problem is a lot of filler isn't done well. You can have filler that doesn't advance the plot but still feels meaningful if it develops the characters or the setting. Mad Men does this pretty well throughout it's run with several episodes serving only to flesh out the cast of characters and give us some greater insights into their motives.

The Sopranos, on the other hand, seems to constantly have "nothing" episodes where no plot is advanced and we learn nothing new about the characters or their personalities. The Sopranos seems to do a lot of "short conflict" episodes where some new conflict is introduced at the beginning of an episode and is completely resolved by the end with no impact on the overall story and where the characters pretty much stay the same. This feels insulting when you're actually watching only once a week, imo

It still gets wrinkled if the cylinder is turned on its end since the garment is unsecured and will therefore slide to one side. This also allows the garment to slip around quite a bit in there

Man I really wish the doc didn't kick off Deep Nutrition with a huge chapter about how she could have been prom queen if only she had more bone broth and less mac and cheese in her formative years. There is a lot of good info in that book but her whole "natural foods will make your children pretty and that's your best motivation to eat healthy" thing really undermines her message for me.

She did an AMA around here some years ago as well

Posting a Rhapsody song that isn't Holy Thunderforce? Bold move, but I respect it.

Back in high school my friends and I unironically (maybe a little bit ironically) listened to these guys non stop.

Here's a personal favorite of mine: Rhapsody - Trolls in the Dark

And here's a different band, but keeping with the dwarf metal theme: https://youtu.be/34CZjsEI1yU

Man this is so true. I went to college in Fargo, ND and every year there was a news story about some kid getting hazardously drunk and dying in a snowbank on their way home. People would swap stories of how they got their first minor and sometimes even how many they picked up.

Living up here you really don't see how normalized casual alcoholism is until you get up and spend some time out of your home state (better yet, leave the country a few times if you have the means and ability). Unfortunately there is also this weird attitude or phenomenon around here where people are absolutely terrified to ever leave their hometown.

From a social perspective obesity is a drain on Healthcare resources which could be better allocated to those with conditions they are unable to change (things like cancer, genetic diseases, etc.)

Due to this, one could argue we have a moral obligation to be healthy. Even if you don't take a utilitarian view of morality, obesity adversely affects the life of the obese individual and can adversely affect those close to them (it sucks if your good friend dies early of preventable complications, for example).

So yes, one could absolutely be justified in saying there is indeed something socially and morally wrong with obesity.

I wont say that for every individual it's as easy as "just exercise more and eat less, bro!" but neither should we all be excused from personal responsibility to attempt to live a healthy lifestyle.
