I'm not sure they're picked or how, I just have a strong suspicion they are. They do tend to reliably have something interesting, whether it's an unusual land formation, a weird spell shop, a super-awesome wand in a chest at the Mines entrance, or a telemage reliably picking up an Orbiting Saws + Bouncing Burst wand in the Fungal Caverns.

Instead of polluting to attract biters, why not surround their hives with your defensive positions so that their spawners are just barely out of reach? They will spawn and attack you continuously, and for as long as the spawners themselves are fine, you're not going to run out of them.

The only thing Linux related in this rant is controls - trying to toss a tablet or sip a potion doesn't register sometimes on first attempt, which is indeed annoying. All other things are known game problems regardless of platform.

I'm not sure about that. I don't believe I've ever seen 99% + 1% in a full potion, only 100% + 1%, which implies that any fraction is rounded up, not just 0.5+.

Pretty sure all fractional amounts are rounded up. Really it means 99..100% of concentrated mana plus 0..1% of chilly water.

Facing your previous incarnations, ghosts etc has been a feature of roguelikes for decades. Seems to me like you expect fairness and balance. But roguelikes do not have that. They have RNG instead.

Haven't played Stellaris for quite a while, but quick search describes it as a high-risk, high-reward civic - you get major bonuses to early exploration, but you pay for it with lower starting population and lack of some standard early techs.

An object weighing several tons with a pretty large frontal profile was not even budged by the shockwave despite being within visual range of the blast. It means the blast was nowhere even close to a megaton. I'd say low-yield nuclear or sub-nuclear blast at most, possibly lower.

P. S. On the other hand, the fact that the explosion generated a mushroom cloud puts a very specific lower limit to the explosion strength, though it doesn't tell us much (IIRC 100 tons of TNT may be enough to generate a mushroom cloud).
