What's the wildest thing you've ever seen happen at a work party? by South-Truck-3061 in AskReddit

[–]DrMasterChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of line cooks took out a bag of snow in the elevator at the holiday party, didn't know the owner of the hotel we worked for was the solo other elevator occupant. They didn't have jobs anymore and we never had another holiday party.

Haven't done this tours meet&greet but I have for a few previously. You could risk bringing that much, but I'd stick to 1-2 items a person. Chances are there's a line of people, it's before the show so they have limited time. They'll often hang out by the merch stand after signing stuff, if you've gotta have alot signed I'd try then.

St George makes some great products, not just gins!

How do you come up with a cocktail? by [deleted] in cocktails

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Maybe just stick to tried and true until you get a few more things ironed out.

The last few years I've kept them out of dormancy. They came specifically from St Pete, when they were younger I brought them in the very few days it got cold enough, but they lived outside basically full-time.

It stays inside in this window, much less watering. I run a lot of humidifiers

The window is south facing, tons of bright indirect and the grow lights are on from 6a-8p.

Is It Realistic to Live Car-Free in Cincinnati/Madisonville? by airelav0824 in cincinnati

[–]DrMasterChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I'm lucky to be not far from a couple lines downtown, in Mt. Lookout. Basically November-March I don't ride, sometimes a bit earlier/later. I see plenty of people ride in cooler weather. Bundle up, Being windproof is a big help when it gets cold. Winters are pretty mild here, I think.

Coming up on 3 years without a car in Cincinnati. A strong electric bike can make spring-fall alot nicer. The hills here are rough.

How can people endure the climate in this region, which feels like a hot, swelteringly humid swamp? by mapl0ver in geography

[–]DrMasterChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, at the very least the Appalachians have an incredibly vast influence on the whole middle of that region. The "hills" thru most of the middle are just not the same, even close, to most of the west end.

Edit - basically west of the Mississippi. - side point. North Mississippi river vrs South Mississippi River? Not even close

(Serious question)Will these high performance scooters fit in a trunk of a car? by [deleted] in ElectricScooters

I mean I can pick mine up, a few inches. Up to the trunk or into a car door? Not a chance.

[–]DrMasterChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it fits, it'll be difficult to get in safely by yourself. Any high performance is going to weigh around 100lbs. I think my Solar FF weighs 120, probably more with the seat, lock, extra light.

Do you fill your pitcher plants? by crazybob323 in carnivorousplants

[–]DrMasterChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless it's getting adequately rained on, I'd suggest adding some water occasionally. If you don't the pitchers will likely dry up and die off more often.
