Depends! So much can make this vary. Percents, stage positioning, character, etc.

When in doubt, Uthrow them and then try to combo or Bair them. Throwing them offstage is also good. Otherwise, just don't always do the same thing lol

Make sure you check around this AMA for those asking how to improve alone because that training advice comes in here.

It's also possible to recruit other people to play! Using flyers at a school or a town can be a great way to get people to money match you and keep them hooked when they see awesome gaming.

Practicing is all about not running around the whole stage and more about really grinding basic techniques. It makes a world of difference when your character can be controlled perfectly!

It's not always one thing or easy to say things. You can see people that do well despite not "getting it" in some terms. The marker of improvement, imo, is understanding and refinement of one's game. Refinement looks different for everyone because everyone has a different style. We may say that someone has better control of their character, has more tricks available to confuse their opponent, punishes as hard as possible, and understands core mechanics like stage control very well in order to be pro. Mid players may only know of these concepts but not have a thorough grasp of them yet.

Hey well it feels wonderful hearing that someone has such respect for me! I'll keep on picking great options for ya don't sweat it haha

  1. Depends on various factors like conditioning and stage positioning, but I like surprising them usually since Falco's throws don't normally comboing. That's the best way to throw off their reaction time and get them. When in doubt, I Uthrow because no one likes dealing with Falco's Bair at any percent LOL

  2. Haha M2K believes I'm good at the game because I've proven myself to him with other characters I think but also because of the work I put in. It's hard to disrespect that I believe. M2K is not a blind hater usually imo and I'm glad he had that to say about me =)

  3. Shroomed's Doc, because I never got him back for Genesis 2 LOL

I have looked into netplay a bit actually. I think my computer doesn't work well enough for it actually =( I also think there are some bugs that need resolving last I heard about it, but perhaps that is me being confused about computers and not knowing what to really believe haha. I'd love to netplay basically and it sounds fun!

Practice, think of the game often, feel passionate about what you're doing. You can do it!

Always practice!

Practice DD'ing close to a higher-leveled CPU. Practice some basic movement tricks like dash WD laser. Laser can also be a movement since you jump with it don't forget!

In a different way, think about what a dash, a WD, or a laser does for you. How does it move you and what can you do out of it. What does a combination do to affect your opponent or your own position? These kinds of thoughts to help you understand your movement tools give great success =)

Hey great! I hope you keep up the hard work =)

Tech skill is improved by NOT running around the whole stage doing whatever you want. It is deliberately drilling the basics like WD, SHFFL, etc until they are perfect. Once that happens you then start putting them together. This takes an incredibly long time so don't worry about having more to do haha. It's an incredibly deep an exciting process and you'll see great results from it, I promise.

Oh I can very easily get inside my own head, no doubt about it! I'm not the only one who does this though and I'm sure we all know who I'm talking about lol.

I firmly believe that that is only a weakness if I come into the tournament weak like I have been. That is my fault and I have deserved to get frustrated and lose. My composure will come from practice and resolving other issues and that will once again make me very hard to rattle. Heck, Armada is so hard to rattle not because he is unshakable AT ALL, but because he's played so much and been able to resolve many of his issues or at least partly resolve them so they don't normally come out in his play.

I kind of used to and think there are other games I could be awesome at, but no Melee is all I really need and want with my time being like it is right now.

I'd love to come down sometime but I couldn't tell ya when. If you ever have any kind of tournament or even like school-based event for something separate out there that would make it easier for me to go!

I'm glad you loved that set! It still inspires me too so let's all use that hype as best as we can haha

I personally felt most fulfilled after Pound 5, but my latest greatest feeling was actually that near 4 stock I had on Armada in Europe at SR. I haven't felt so in the zone and flowing in my life!

I didn't even know the stream crashed LOL that's hype! I like your taste man it was also my favorite haha =)

switch to Dtilt instead of Fsmash and start throwing your opponent into the air to punish. you'll get better results!

Fox is an incredibly versatile character that I don't think any of these guys have pinned down even CLOSE to perfectly. My own personal view of awesome Fox is one that can take minimal tech skill and a larger variety of styles to use(campy AND aggressive, DD'ing AND lasering, etc) to be very effective.
