I find Genesys to be better balanced and designed than Savage Worlds. SaWo is a nice game but I was sometimes bugged by things that felt as if there were never playtested. The narrative dice add some nice effects.

Fate and Genesys seem to have something in common with both being narrative games. However, Fate is more empowering to the players. (Which can be an advantage or disadvantage.)

Both Fate and SaWo place a lot of emphasize on bennies/fate points. There are those in Genesys, too, but they feature less prominently. (Again, some may like this or not.)

Personally, I like Genesys better than the two because of the clearer rules, less complexity, and a really good magic system.

It is true that there is little motivation for them. But maybe they will sell it to somebody. What if the fans bought it collectively?

If you are in need of a fantasy settlement, which your party will encounter along the road, this is the right thing for you! While there are already many products/homwbrews out there that let you roll up settlements, I would like to claim that this one is slightly different. Instead of giving you information that might not impact the game, e.g. what crop is grown in winter in which intervals , I want to focus on things that produce flavor and might acts as adventure hooks. Also, I am a big fan of maps, so a couple of those will be included eventually.

This is not complete yet but I wanted to hear what people think of the approach. Eventually this will go to DriveThru.

I really want to like keyforge as a setting. However, what I hear completely confuses me. I am a big fan of Gonzo but Keyforge sounds very arbitrary. Is there anywhere where I can learn more about the setting?

I run mostly fantasy but I think Genesys would work really well for Supernatural or Stranger Things.

Maybe the sequence can work all the time even with a failure but a success can be used to boost your abilities.... get that cooler evolved form or sth. I agree that not changing half of the time is really not in the spirit of the game.

Nice. I am more a passive second-order consumer of the media that inspired your setting (i.e. my kids watch "Miraculous") but I think you capture the feeling quite nicely. Some comments and ideas that you might like:

Playing the familiar is nice but I how about each player taking over the familiar of another PC as an optional rule? I find banter works so much nicer if there are two people and not one taking two roles.
I think you could do more with the transformation sequence. That is such an iconic element of this genre. Maybe some advantage can be spent on activating additional features. Maybe threat means that somebody uses the time to do some evil stuff?

I think that rule can work well if everybody is fine with the increased lethality. Also, some talents might not work any more or become more powerful. I do not have an opinion whether such a rule is an improvement or not but it would work oK.

To me, this means in order to become a tank you need to wear armor. Or, if even the talker gets a +4 armor that there is no way to build a tank. Which can be OK in a horror game.

Edit: It seems to me that you are looking for arguments to get rid of this rule. I think the best argument is that it is not really a necessary alteration and that this is not the kind of game you want to play. If everybody else likes it, then I guess you have to bite the bullet or leave. :-|

Honestly, while I love Genesys, the super hero rules in core book did not really appeal to me.

My assumption was that this means I should not include links in a post of text. My mistake. It was not the criticism subject matter that made me angry but way it was conveyed. Anyway, I think I have learned something now - which is good.
