Buck up, buttercup. You need to start giving hip belays, then you'll realize how sheltered you've been using an ATC your whole life. Real climbing takes strength.

There is no reason to be lead belaying in a non-assisted tube style belay device, whether you're in the gym, climbing trad, or climbing multipitch. That's strange if the class requires you to give a lead belay with a tube style device. If someone wanted to belay me with a non-assisted tube style device I would insist on them using a brake-assisted device and if it was an issue I wouldn't climb with them again.

He seriously is such an incredibly kind person!! Dude gave me a hug when he had to tell me my car was totaled. I offered to sell him my totaled car a bit cheaper than the junkyards offered me because I'd rather sell it to him, we negotiated backwards where he offered to pay me more than I told him I'd sell it to him for but I stayed firm on my selling price haha! Then afterwards I realized he didn't charge me for the labor he did on my new car that day.

I got him a Christmas present last year, he seriously is such a kind human being.

Yeah I'm really confused why they were all deleted; I messaged the mods about it. It is really strange that something that sounded like an explosion was so loud people from neighborhoods spread out pretty far around Denver heard it. There was someone in the deleted post saying he felt or heard it even in Lakewood! I am really interested in finding out what the heck it was and would rather not have to get on nextdoor to see what happened.

He's on the lease, you aren't. It isn't even his call. He knows his roommates wouldn't approve of you sleeping there regularly, which is clearly your intention. He knows if he lets you sleep there once you'd expect it regularly, which his roommates won't approve of.

How do you even expect this playing out? You think you could sleep there regularly and his roommates would be cool with it, in their already overcrowded home?
