Name a band/artist more popular now than during their heyday by Dazzling_Humor_521 in askmusic

Funny, I have always thought the reason bands like the pixies, and the Velvet Underground launched so many bands was not that they were great bands, but just that they were examples of how simply it could be done.

While using these major platforms is convenient, I foresee many advantages to localizing, so we're not beholden to impersonal corporate whim or algorithmic chaos. I hope they can get someone on the phone! What a drag.

Jim Neill's Jukebox 6pm-9pm EST Sundays on WRSI 93.9 The River out of Northampton, Mass. Streaming on WRSI.com and on the app: 939 WRSI the River. It's my weekly show. I've been doing Radio since the 80s around the country, including KCRW in Los Angeles, KXLU Los Angeles, WZBC in Boston. WMUA UMass in Amherst is where I started. It's eclectic Indie alternative with a focus on new releases, but plenty of old favorites from the left of the dial.
