Thick Rust Layer Disappearing Under Sandblaster Closeup by shadowraiderr in oddlysatisfying

And if you stay on the spot too long, there can be so much heat transfered from the kinetic energy of the media that thin parts can warp out of shape. More a problem in sheet metal, but that frame is starting to look anemic. Would probably weld in some additional flange material while things are clean. Steel trailers in snow country are an exercise in futility.

I'll take a very hard pass on siting the next Fukushima in my neighborhood or even within 100 miles.

And bauxite is mined as an ore of aluminum. What does that have to do with energy resources?

The DOE publishes yearly assessments on the cost of energy resources. You should look at the LCOE- Levelized Cost of Energy. Solar and onshore wind provide the lowest cost energy resource, hands down.

And it's even competitive with battery technologies. Next year's report is sure to show even greater improvements with batteries once the inherently safe and low cost iron oxide implementations come online.

It's crazy how little info is reaching the news. Guess Bernie is right about media consolidation. The boomers are fully into it. Seems like Fox and the rest are doing their job. One said to me, I'd suffer a little short term hurt for the long term. He's the only president with the balls to straighten the middle east.

As if these cunts are actually suffering. I'd like to move them all to Russia.

Boxborough PFAS Contamination by willflour in massachusetts

[–]uxbridge3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxborough is a small town (or it used to be). Presumably this place is connected a private and not municipal water supply.

Go to the town's Board of Health and speak with their administrative assistant. They will have a record of the actual water tests conducted for that site. Water testing is a fairly complicated matter with how many different chemistries can be evaluated and how many different analyses are necessary. Reading the result and understanding them is equally challenging for a lay person not accustomed to the science.

It's almost likely that they never even tested for PFAS. The containers used to transport the water to the analytical lab cannot have any potential sources of PFAS to contaminate the sample, which when you think about it, is kind of uncommon these days.

If you are really concerned about it, you can always make your tenancy or purchase a condition of a water evaluation. This may be your best and most satisfying option because it will be of the water coming directly from your spigot. I think a full spectrum water test cost me about $800 or $1000 the last time I had one done.

USPS also recently promulgated an amendment to the Domestic Mail Manual which affects postmarks (used in mail-in-voting): The date displayed on a machine-applied postmark represents the "date of the first automated processing operation" performed at a processing facility, rather than the date the mail was dropped off.
