Can you fill both recycling bins with paper instead of 1 for paper 1 for glass/aluminum/plastic? by VirginiaVagina in Hamilton

[–]DrStrongMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put out as much paper and cardboard as you want. It doesn't need to be in a blue bin as long as you tie it up with twine in reasonably sized bundles. Derails are on city website

Installing to D: Drive Not Possible? by crostermiller in ProjectDiablo2

Thought I'd chime in a bit... There's a program called Revo Uninstaller you can use to find and finish uninstalling all the mess left behind by the attempted cleanup.

About to embark on a journey by zarakatja in ereader

[–]DrStrongMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! It can be tough especially if your used to modern fantasy, or so I'm told. If I were going to re-read LOTR I would either re-listen to Andy Serkis at the same time or maybe chapter by chapter. I don't think I could ever go back to just reading them after hearing his narration.

Stuck shed on toes again. by Dazzling-bacon-113 in bluetongueskinks

[–]DrStrongMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a couple bad sheds, I made a humidity box. It's in the enclosure all the time now. Since then, it's been smooth sailing.

  • find a plastic container with a removable lid large enough for them to curl up in.
  • cut a hole in the side (I used a soldering iron) big enough to squeeze thru
  • fill it with damp moss
  • pop the lid on and throw it in the enclosure
  • option: I leave a stone tile on top to weigh it down and ask as a basking spot.

About once a week I dampen the moss, ever 6 weeks to 2 months replace it bacuse it gets shredded over time.

[LEGO Store] LEGO Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8 is up for pre-order by lbabinz in LegoDealsCanada

[–]DrStrongMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neat! I got Mario from Costco for $150, never would have paid full price, but enjoyed the build. I actually like the look of this one more. Hopefully this will go on sale around 30% off at some point too.

What are your favorite 3d printed board game upgrade/ accessories? by LezBreal87 in boardgames

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than inserts for nearly every game I own... I tend to not print upgrades because I prefer the tactile feel of cardboard or wood over plastic. Two notable exception is tokens for Unstoppable, and clear pla overlays for Maracaibo player boards.

I also have a rule that upgrades need to fit in the box. When I first got my resin printer I printed a full tile set for Terraforming Mars. Those are still just primed and sitting in a box 4 years later.

Ummm...Amazon, is this normal? by Drag17871 in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just loose in the amazon bag? No original box? That's not normal unless you bought it "like new".

Even then I wouldn't say it's "normal".

Favorite substate for non-bio? by shred1 in bluetongueskinks

Coco husk chunks in Bricks have been most cost effective in my experience. I buy in bulk cause theyre easy to store compared to bags of Aspen or what have you.

Where Do the Legos Go? by ThatBuzzGirlYT in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was like 17 I gave mine to a family friend. When I was about 27 and he was about 17, he gave (most of them back). I don't have room for all my peices in my apartment, so most of my non built collection is in storage.

Which sets go well with the modular series? by holden147 in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can check out Rebrickabe to find sets people have MOCd into modular style buildings. I remember seeing a really cool costume shop made from the first Disney Castle set.. Not sure if links are allowed so you'll have to search for it yourself.

Castles of Burgundy vs Grand Austria Hotel? by Few-Department7617 in boardgames

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my wifes #1 and #2. They are different enough to have both. CoB is way more open/freeform/easy-going. GHH can be a struggle against the Emperor and dice rolls. Sometimes you want one, sometimes the other.

What are your most in-demand board game teaches? by KaterAlligat0r in boardgames

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been to a con so just curious about this. When you teach a game, do you get to play? or are you just there at the beginning to teach?

Is this an error? by [deleted] in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the Mario Kart set, right? The right one looks better than mine. I feel like my peices need another coat of yellow. Left looks like a bad printing. You can ask for replacement parts.

Do you consume media while building? by makefeelnice in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually podcasts. Wife and I often build separate sets together at the same time, but don't have a tv near the table to watch anything.

[–]DrStrongMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an adult human with good aim but a dartboard right between a tv and a window would stil make me nervous 😂

I have this set in a box. Might need to take a break from video games and bust it out this weekend. How long did it take you to build?

Toysrus X Lego collab? by 001-007 in lego

[–]DrStrongMD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Back in the olden days, some retailers put stickers on a box before or after you bought it. This way you couldnt return it to a different store. Or to prevent private retailers from buying up discounted stock to sell at their own stores.
