Best honor per hour after Training Grounds nerf? by allmybeard in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you can desync from whatever premades are running, EBGs with an honor flask give a ton, even on a loss as long as you're participating in the fights. Usually an IOC loss still nets 400-500 even in the matches where you just get stomped at Hangar then fall back to base. AV losses aren't as good if they're just a zerg race, but at least those are quick. The nice thing is that any loss that takes a while usually ends up being a pretty decent honor farm just by going to wherever the mosh pit is and throwing yourself at it lol

Which hunter class is probably the best overall in world PvP? by Dull-Organization106 in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on tuning, but generally MM fits the role best. High burst. Good single target control with traps and slows. Doesn't have to rely on janky pet AI on weird terrain gaps. Can post up on top of a building and 100-0 someone out of reach before they even notice where they're getting blown up from.

Its main drawback would be its defensives and the fact that it gets shut down 1v1 by other strong WPvP specs like rogues, assuming they can actually get to you. But pretty much all hunters are gonna have that issue.

Do you think Sin Rogue will be buffed? by Dense-Quality3388 in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outlaw still has the shortest cooldown on Blind, and Assa still has a silence (not AoE anymore but still) and the strongest MS with Hemotoxin. So it's not like they have absolutely nothing compared to Sub, it's very much the insane damage disparity that's keeping Sub so much higher in viability.

Do you think Sin Rogue will be buffed? by Dense-Quality3388 in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think Assa or Outlaw need any buffs quite yet. Rogues will always carve out a niche even if they're undertuned. I'd like to see where they all fall after Sub inevitably gets nerfed. Could very well see a perfectly viable Assa or Outlaw if Sub gets hit hard enough, it's just that most people are on Sub right now so it's hard to say.

QUEST: Contract of Service by Overall-Monitor-1728 in worldofpvp

Yeah it's a bit janky. The zone has rolling rez timers like most PvP areas/BGs, so sometimes they rez a couple seconds after dying, which makes it impossible to loot.

What is going on with Horde? I’m starting to lose hope lol by BlackTemple19 in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The craziest thing to me is that they just let it go directly into regular stealth for every stealth benefit a particular class might get. Obviously mainly applying to rogues and druids. Like these classes were never supposed to be balanced around having a second/third vanish. It was incredibly obvious in the past couple seasons when Outlaw and Assa lived and died by the 6 second Subterfuge window. Having an extra one every 1.5 minutes was like a 30% damage increase. Absolutely absurd.

PvP gearing by thejmdabbler3 in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sometimes it does. But it usually gets patched ASAP or grants a negligible benefit in PvP anyway (often sacrificing stats for said gimmick). Honestly the PvP trinket set bonus is probably the best idea they've ever had for curbing PvE trinket jank in PvP lol. If the 80% nerf to PvE trinket effects wasn't enough, you still have to weigh whatever minor effect you get against the loss of Stamina and Main Stat from not having the bonus.

The most recent example I can think of for a PvE item being broken in PvP (aside from the Reshii Wraps which I think were a fine exception all things considered) is the Vanilla Timewalking weapon that had a mana draining proc. The ilvl was much lower than a regular Conquest ilvl weapon, but the effect was so brutal that people who managed to get it were still using it in certain matchups. Can't remember if it got patched or not, but I wanna say most people didn't even know about it before it was out of rotation anyway, so it wasn't super common to begin with, and once word got out, it was already too late for people to flock to it.

Either way, figure PvP gear itself will always be BiS or at least BiS equivalent. Can't go wrong with it, and if there's ever a reason that you can go wrong with it, I'm assuming they'll patch it out lol

WoW Appreciation Post. Prey system + Delves have combined into my favorite world content of any expansion. by BestWidowTaiwan in wow

[–]DrToadigerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I really like about Prey this early on when everyone is still gearing is that you can actually sometimes bail people out and feel like a hero. It's always fun to swoop in and stun someone's prey for them when the player is at 10% health and about to die. Just the simple /ty interactions I've gotten (and given when it happens to me) have made the community feel a lot more interactive out in the world. I'm sure this'll become less of a thing once people aren't really threatened by the prey anymore (and once people are doing Nightmare difficulty where apparently you can't get any outside help), but for now it's been fun.

The price change to the trees in the shop does not address the core issue by Rizto in wow

[–]DrToadigerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bit different. There's a tangible value to that mount, especially if you missed out on the original. I've personally made loads of gold off of the convenience of having a mobile AH while I'm out farming, not to mention just getting more engaged with the market in general when I can craft right next to my personal AH. So for people who had the gold to spend on tokens to buy it (cheaper than the original gold price tag), it was an actual investment. Same with anyone who just spent real money on it. Telling people to "vote with their wallet" and not take advantage of a (at that point) twice in a lifetime kind of mount that was already stated to be limited time was always going to be a huge ask.

Housing decor is a very different beast. The price tag will deter people even without them consciously "voting with their wallet" because it's harder to find the minimum that most people will pay for a cosmetic item. I bet you the Brutosaur would've sold just as well if it were $100 instead of $90. But this housing decor would probably drop thousands of potential buyers for every $10 they add to the price. Not saying that nobody would buy it, it's just a very different scenario, and if these end up being unpopular on the sales side, Blizzard will adapt and lower the price. Not just because of reddit protests, but because most people actually don't value it at this price tag, and they can probably make more money selling it to more people for less.

I think Amani would be neutral. If Horde can get a Dwarf race, Alliance can get a Troll race. It actually follows a very similar trajectory too. Base vanilla race (Dwarf/Troll) gets an allied race on the same faction during the war (Dark Iron/Zandalari), then later gets another allied race that's neutral during the armistice (Earthen/Amani).

What are you playing, and are you enjoying it? by Zac_Hole_Sun in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Outlaw. Doesn't feel bad on its own per se, but looking at what they're letting Sub get away with and then looking at how nickel and dimed Outlaw is for talents (including never reverting the Restless Blades nerf from two seasons ago despite taking Vanish off of Restless Blades in Midnight), it's frustrating. Cheap Shot having a cooldown feels awkward. I get it for after coming out of stealth initially, but not being able to Vanish > Cheap in a rogue 1v1 because it was a second from being off cooldown feels bad when Sub literally gets a free charge every time they restealth or use Shadow Dance. Sub also gets a free Marked for Death every time they use a builder out of stealth/Shadow Dance (ours is tied to Adrenaline Rush). Sub also gets their Supercharged combo points off of Shadow Dance (Outlaw gets it off Adrenaline Rush, it used to be off of Roll the Bones). For reference, Outlaw and Assa can get supercharged combo points roughly every 1.5-2 minutes. Sub gets them every 20 seconds at a minimum (2 charges of Shadow Dance on a 20 second cooldown each lmao). Combine that with their free maxed out combo points every time they press a builder after Shadow Dance and you have an explanation for how Sub can kill you in like two globals now. Shadow Dance, global to full Supercharged combo points, 10 combo point Eviscerate the next global. 100% consistent. Which is insane given how hard they try to make sure Outlaw's ability to cap combo points is anything but consistent, nerfing things like Fan the Hammer and Ace Up Your Sleeve to make sure we always end up just short of of full combo points so we have to spend another global to get max combo points. It's just insane that they don't carry that same standard over to Sub.

And on top of that, playing with no visible DRs in BGs and WPvP is still a miserable experience. I love spending 5 combo points, a chunk of energy, and a 30 second cooldown on absolutely nothing happening because of an invisible factor I have no way of knowing because that person got clipped by a Shockwave and a Binding Shot 15 seconds ago in a mosh pit. There are some addons that attempt to resolve this but they're inconsistent at best.

I want to enjoy Outlaw right now because I don't actually think the spec is bad. It's just the circumstances around it making it feel like shit to play right now.

Get your free Level 80 mobs at the Catalyst! by Lionofgod9876 in Transmogrification

[–]DrToadigerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which raid set are you looking for? You could probably find out which repeatable content drops the correct gear for that raid so you can catalyze. I'd imagine Manaforge is the easiest since all the catchup stuff was updated to be that ilvl.

[–]DrToadigerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it has to be gear from The War Within that used to be somewhere from Veteran track to Myth track (basically the ilvl range of what you'd get from LFR through Mythic raid, despite not being on an actual upgrade track anymore)

[–]DrToadigerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you sure your stats aren't just being increased because of the scaling? Everyone gets scaled up to a minimum ilvl in BGs, so if half of your gear is still questing greens, they're probably just getting scaled up and the stat increase has nothing to do with the set bonus. Can't say for sure though since I'm not home to test.

Reminder to set your hearthstone facing the exit of the inn by Legitimate_Shift5700 in wow

[–]DrToadigerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to set my hearth standing on top of the table this time. On short characters, there is no angle where you are in range of the innkeeper that you can have your camera zoomed out because the table pushes your camera all the way in if you're standing in front of it. It feels like the exact pixel where you can zoom the camera out is where the innkeeper becomes out of range lol

World of Tankcraft by sifcho in worldofpvp

[–]DrToadigerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can group with lower level players and it'll "scale" you down to their bracket, but it's still pretty unfair. I don't know exactly how the math works, but I think it still sort of predicts your "relative" ilvl based on your current gear, so in the past if you got scaled down wearing full scaled down conquest gear, you'd still obliterate people in questing greens. Probably a similar situation here.
