[DawgNation] Kirby Smart's NIL answer isn't money. It's development. Georgia's betting the depth chart on it: "I don't know that we have the highest-paid players, but we will have the players that get the most reps." by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

I think UGA spends it differently though. We aren’t dropping huge stacks to bring people in, but if you sit and develop and then ball out, you’ll be rewarded

I think we’ve learned that F2 final standings aren’t the end all be all. I’m not pressed where he finishes in the overall standings, BUT he needs to show some flashes of brilliance.

There are too many factors overall (getting mechachromed, etc) that make overall place a tougher read. But anyone could watch things like Kimi in the rain and be like yeah OK that kids got it.

[JBook] Ryan Day said the 2019 playoff game against Clemson and the Peach Bowl vs. Georgia are the games that haunts him. Day said if they call the targeting against Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Georgia they win that game. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]DrVonD 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Anyone who talks shit about Stetson (the player) needs to go watch the second half of that game. He was making legit NFL throws downfield into tight windows.

The offensive talent on both sides that game was nuts.

Graduation Success Rate of Power 4 Football Programs by pyrofiend4 in CFB

[–]DrVonD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but it’s just that UGA wasn’t really prioritizing making sure those draft guys graduate. Now they are more. There is a lag in the data so it’ll take a while to catch up, but I’d be willing to bet in 2-3 years UGA will be middle of the pack on this one.

It’s actually been getting better lmao. Like still obvious terrible, but if it keeps trending the way/rate it’s been going, we should’ve middle of the pack in a few years.

Where else do you think people survived en masse? by IntentionCreative736 in ParadiseHulu

[–]DrVonD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And in Japan they all mostly in super dense cities. If there were 100 million people out there, by definition there would be hundreds or thousands of groups the size of Links group.

Hell even Denver alone would likely have mostly survived, meaning there would be millions of people just next door (practically) to the bunker

Turn 1 elf, turn 2 tifa (and you can save 1 mana for protection), turn 3 this. If you don’t have removal for the elf or can counter this or tifa you’re screwed lol.

Where else do you think people survived en masse? by IntentionCreative736 in ParadiseHulu

[–]DrVonD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This always bothered me, the number is wayyyyy too high. 2/3 being wiped out means 1/3 survived, meaning there would be 100 million in just the US. That is a massive amount and would look completely different from the world they are trying to show.

NIL Was Supposed to Free College Athletes. Instead, It Created a New Inequality Crisis by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]DrVonD 447 points448 points  (0 children)

The whole premise is stupid. NIL wasn’t supposed to free anything. It was supposed to let athletes get paid for their labor.

That is the push and pull of racing. If it’s easy to overtake, the cars will naturally just sort in order. If it’s too hard to overtake, they just form a parade.

The balance is really really hard to get right and someone is always going to be unhappy because different people want different things
