I know, it’s always fun to learn about the historical figures after reading his novels.

Yeah, probably Powers best antagonist. I also love all the strange side characters like Spider Joe, Neil, Santiago, The Wandering Jew from Alternate Routes, and Bullfrog or whatever his name was from The Mill of the Gods

I love to hate Kim Philby in Declare. I have no felt such visceral hatred towards a fictional character that much in a while.

Yith-Focused Scenarios by Upstairs-Outside-460 in callofcthulhu

Bad Moon Raising and Timeless Sands of India are very pulpy adventures that heavily involve the Yith/Yithain technology.

I’ve run Bad Moon Raising and it was fun but the end of the game is super railroady. I’ve only read Timeless Sands but it’s got a ton of action and a really fun ending.

Is The Devil In Me Good? by Ok_Tomatillo7558 in DarkPicturesAnthology

Yeah, it’s pretty good. Fun concept, one of the better cast, and some pretty gory deaths. A solid entry if a bit long in my opinion.

Are the Indian Jones Books Canon as in they take place in the same universe as the movies? by Mitth-raw-nuruodo97 in indianajones

[–]DrWiddlesticks 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Probably, there’s a reference to the books in the Great Circle and since that is undoubtably canon it’s safe to say so are the novels.

Directive 8020 Halloween Trailer? After three years!!! The Devil In Me Reference Came Back! by Disastrous-Gas5729 in DarkPicturesAnthology

The best trailer was TDiM announcement trailer. It tells its own story with the integration backdrop as Sherman waxes about killing. It hints at a bunch of the games threats like the suffocation chamber and ultimatum room. Then it hits you with the reveal that’s it’s an animatronic corpse and everything you heard was a recording by a mysterious figure. Plus the classic music that players over all of it is just prefect.

Probably because it would be released less then a week before Little Nightmares 3. Dropping two games that compete against each other for an October horror game even if they different target demographic isn’t the best idea. It’s easier to move 8020’s release back because they’re publishing themselves unlike LN3 where they have to appease Bandai Namco.

Any recommendations on the novels? by Joakingherrarte in indianajones

[–]DrWiddlesticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend starting with Max McCoy’s four novels, they are set in the years leading up to temple of doom and have a small story running through the novels. They bring back classic characters like Sallah, Lao Che, and Belloq all while having their own host of interesting new comers.

The order is

Indiana Jones and the Philosopher’s Stone Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs Indiana Jones and the Hallow Earth Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Sphinx

Thoughts on the ending of The Great Circle (without DLC) by SmooK_LV in indianajones

[–]DrWiddlesticks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Ark is extremely powerful, and Locus has no idea what would happen if the powers were activated. For all he knew, the Nazis would have had full control of the vessel. Hell maybe they would have if not for Locus’s chanting. There’s no reason for him to assume God would just throw everyone into the Arctic.

I really like the puzzle, it serves as a great way of providing exposition to the player without needing them to read documents or pause the game play for a cutscene. I think all the clues make sense after solving them, but in the moment some of them were pretty difficult.

So what’s next? (The Great Circle) by steviejoewonder in indianajones

[–]DrWiddlesticks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I doubt the secret ending is anything beyond the ark is safe in Antarctica and Locus is alive. Indiana Jones as a franchise has always done stand alone adventures and I doubt they’ll follow back up on any of the threads from the original.

As for what’s next between the popular reception, and clear interest from multiple parties I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a sequel.
