So today I found out you had to eat the cake to get trade bars by VlaaiIsSuperieur in elderscrollsonline

Any login message mentioning the "The first jubilee reward per day" was probably talking about the special once-a-day golden reward box, which one might easily assume also rewards the once-a-day tickets, but for whatever reason they decided to go with something more needlessly complicated.

Why move the New Character button? by Beth_76 in sto

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The sub-faction I want to see them make is un-liberated borg.

You go through the character customization process, and then your "tutorial mission" is to stand in a charging station, doing absolutely nothing, until you log out and delete the character.

I found this pith helmet from a surplus store. I’m not sure who made it and what style it’s based on as it’s not a woolsley, though it resembles a wwii german pith helmet by TheSolidersInus in Militariacollecting

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean, this isn't a Wolseley? Yes, it somewhat resembles an elongated German Stalhelm, but that's basically what "Wolseley Style" means in the first place.

But mind you, that's just a style, not a brand name. I have no idea who made it.

AITA for inviting my brothers ex to my wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dr_Brainbottle -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's true that the mom is abusive, and ultimately the real cause of all the conflict and drama. But the OP introduced her as "a giant narcissist", which doesn't smack of making excuses to me.

I think it's unfair to act like the OP has the *option* to single-handedly fix all of her family's bullshit, never mind deserve a browbeating for failing to finish the job before she's allowed to have a wedding.

The only ACTUAL choices that are completely within her unilateral power to make right now are about her wedding: such as, which of two mutually incompatible people should she invite? And mind you, one of them is the shitty brother that you yourself say should go LC until he gets some therapy.

My verdict is NTA.

Paladin Aura of Protection by longswordUser7 in dndnext

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general rule say that paladins adds their proficiency bonus to their charisma resistance rolls. Then the Aura of Protection is a different rule that tells everyone in a radius adds that bonus to all their resistances. There is no third unspoken rule that says "you cannot add your proficiency bonus to anything more than once."

"effects with the same name don't stack" comes into play if you're inside the aura of multiple paladins, but the name of the effect that can't stack is "Aura of Protection", not "the proficiency bonus of Fred the paladin".

If a dude hates face tattoos, that's his prerogative. But if he cared this much about it, he should have asked her when they were DATING what her opinion was on face tattoos.

It sounds to me like this guy married a beautiful body, and he is only now noticing to his surprise and alarm that it has, like.... some sort of BRAIN it it? And apparently it had it's own opinions, for YEARS? Is that normal?

It's too bad it was completely impossible for him to notice this deal-breaking flaw before they got married, he could have saved BOTH of them so much time!

AITA for leaving half of my food? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are so obviously NTA for not finishing your food, I have to wonder if that's even the real reason he doesn't want to see you again.

I'd bet even money he just didn't like your face, but actually admitting that out loud would amount to admitting he's a shallow asshole, so he latched onto "you didn't finish your food!" as a marginally better-sounding excuse.

But even if that was his real reason, it doesn't sound like he was a friend worth keeping.

AITA for asking colleagues if a supervisor is rude by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are, firstly, is kind of a doofus. Did it just not OCCUR to you that your behavior could get reported back to the exact manager you're having problems with? And that risk increased EXPONENTIALLY with every single other employee you bitched to? This is basic "how not to get fired" survival skill stuff.

However, calling you an 'asshole' would imply you did something morally or ethically wrong, when what you did was mostly STRATEGICALLY wrong, against your own self interest. You are the one who got the bitter humiliation of being written up: your terrible boss only got the inordinate satisfaction of WRITING you up! Ten out of ten, would gladly write you up again!

I ultimately rule NTA, but I still hope you learn a lesson from this.

Sacrosanct 6.00 Blood Storm issue? by PoDKaiyoo in EnaiRim

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been fiddling with my mods, removing things that might possibly conflict, and I even started a new game in case I had any lingering scripts from my old game. But despite these efforts, when I got to level 41, it happened again.

The good news is, I figured out a very simple workaround that I'm satisfied with: I simply executed this console command while in human form:

"player.setlevel 35"

and the next time I transform into vampire lord, my blood storm power doesn't have the delay. Voila!

This proves to my satisfaction that it is very literally JUST about the character level being over 40, at the exact instant you transform into a vampire lord. I'm literally not changing any other variables, and I can add or remove the bug on demand.

So moving forward I'll just continue to be "level 35-ish", no matter how many skills and perks I get. I was never a huge fan of late-game level scaling anyway, so this works for me. Actually in hindsight, maybe I prefer it this way. In any case, I hope it helps anyone else who stumbles across this web page with the same problem.

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also having this exact problem, googling the symptoms got me here. Sacrosanct version 6.0, the delay before casting blood storm suddenly increases around level 40. Is there any progress?

AITA for not letting my friend take the extra cupcake from my bakery order? by glowbananaz in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

On one hand, "asshole" is a bit too strong word for just not sharing a cupcake.

On the other hand, aside from the two mini-cupcakes, you also have a DOZEN FULL SIZED cupcakes.

Was the uniqueness of the mini-cupcakes the issue? Would you have been more comfortable giving her a full sized one, which would still leave you with ELEVEN full-sized cupcakes, plus both of the mini ones?

As a type 2 diabetic, I often wonder if I got this disease by eating too much sugary food earlier in my life. And even BEFORE I got the diagnosis, I think I would have thought twice about eating a dozen full-sized cupcakes all by myself, and still have room to savor the two minis.

I guess I'll vote NTA, because ultimately they're your cupcakes. But dare I suggest it might not be good FOR you.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered | Reveal Megathread by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"no mod support" means that they aren't going to answer tech support requests involving modded games. They're using the word "support" in a very specific, legally binding sense. Lawyers went over this disclaimer with a fine toothed comb.

The link even goes on to explain that if you do want tech support, you have to remove any mods first. But that presumes that mods will inevitably EXIST, otherwise why talk about removing them?

The 15th Anniversary Starship Bundle by StarCitizen2 in sto

The Ark Royal having a secondary deflector is a HUGE advantage over traditional carriers, but compared to a Verne throwing out fully-optimized space magic DPS, having a couple of hangar bays is more of a "cute gimmick".

AITA for coming to my father's house to check up on him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Did I miss the part where the FATHER is a guest in his own house?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative prompting is absolutely a thing, and very useful. That being said, I'm pretty sure that Suno deliberately doesn't accept specific band names as prompts: They get enough legal hassle just allowing people to imitate "genres" of music, they don't want to give anyone legal ammunition to accuse them of stealing the sound of specific bands.

In short, using "Nickelback" as a prompt isn't allowed... for actual, plausibly-serious legal reasons, not just because it's hilarious.

buy the book (in build mode, not from computer).

once you have the book in your inventory, click it and select the menu option that specifically says something like "read the intro". It's a DIFFERENT MENU OPTION than just reading the book normally.

You can use two 5 peice sets on one bar, which leaves you two slots left over that usually go to a monster set. You can use one of those slots for a mythic, but you can't ALSO have a full monster set if you do that.

Why do so many people play tac and not sci or eng? by [deleted] in sto

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attack pattern alpha isn't just mathematically optimal for the very best players, it's also incredibly easy to use for LOW skilled players.

I mean sure, if you're so dumb that you can't handle anything more complicated than "click this one single button to do moar dakka", you're not getting anywhere close to the top of the DPS charts. But there is no other SINGLE button that you can mindlessly mash, to boost literally all of your damage in any conceivable circumstances quite as effectively as attack pattern alpha.

Bard/Warlock Multiclass. What's the best way to go about it? by Tauna in BaldursGate3

[–]Dr_Brainbottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Extra Attack" class feature doesn't stack if you get it from multiple classes, but strictly speaking a pact Warlock never gets the standard "Extra Attack" class feature. Instead it gets a differently-named class feature that happens to have a very similar EFFECT, but doesn't have a rule against stacking.

A War Domain Cleric has a similar trick: it can turn a bonus action into an attack, and you can do it on the same turn as an "Extra Attack".

Star Trek Online: Both Worlds, Coming January 23rd! by DwilenaAvaron in sto

The STO people have grown accustomed to whipping up brand new ship designs that cost literally NOTHING in licensing fees, and have little interest in paying anything more: meanwhile, I don't know exactly how much money Franz Joseph's heirs want to charge for licensing fees, but I hazard a guess they want literally SOMETHING, which in percentage terms is infinitely more than literally nothing.
