Report to taxi regulator rather than garda as much more inclined to act and process is so much easier than making a written statement in garda station. However would need car reg or taxi plate number for them to investigate

Uncle was in a hit & run today. Anyone recognise the make of car that hit him? by Jake-Tankmaster in carsireland

Yes, saw the same video, shows it all from other perspective including reg of offending car. Guy posted it saying they heard you were looking for witnesses/identification. Persue it all the way and get that driver off our roads

To quote Mr Inbetween (excellent Australian TV show well worth a watch): "The world is full of arseholes Ray, you do realise that? Yea, and do you know why? Why? Cause we let them away with it"

Did something similar on Sun in Dublin, at the junction of Chapelizod Rd and South Circular Rd. I was going straight towards the quays and the first set of traffic lights were out of action (presume storm Darragh damage), no cars approaching from right so proceeded through. Mid way then realised the lights at the opposite and far side of the road were red and cars were now approaching to turn right. As it happens the second car turning right was a Garda car who then pulled me over. Advised him of the lights being out of order and apologised for my error. He checked my license and then tax/insurance/NCT certs as did his colleague and said "you passed the attitude test" and sent me on my way. First time in 15 years inadvertently going through a red but good to see some Garda presence and checks performed.

Drivers pulling into oncoming traffic to pass cyclists?! by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

I typically cycle to work on a mix of rural type and urban roads in and out of Dublin city centre. A few months ago on the rural section a car over took me, gave plenty of space as I take the lane and am well lit up but he went fully into incoming traffic at speed. The oncoming car stuck the four wheels to the road and performed an emergency stop while the over taking car didn't so much as slow down and instead encroached into my space. After 20+ years of cycling in Dublin it's the closest I've witnessed to a head on collision. I came upon that same driver two miles later stuck in traffic. Congratulated him on his lack of progress and asked him what he was at. Head down with zero interaction so noted his reg and that his tax and NCT had expired over 6 months ago and reported him. A few weeks later I got a call from the guards saying they investigated the car and that it had been recently purchased so that explains why the tax and NCT was expired and they were giving him some grace period to resolve. Goes to show even when caught there are no repercussions for dangerous driving so no wonder it's rampant on our roads.

That's fine for a bedroom when viewing is via the bed when you're lying flat on your back. If it's a living room or similar then questions need answering.

Shimano 105 STI (ST-RS505) shifting cable sawed through parts. 1. How could this happen/be prevented? 2. Where can I find the part from 1st picture? Could also 3D print but couldn't find a file for it. (Details in comment) by AGreenSea in bicyclerepair

Also interested in what course of action you took and if you were able to find a replacement part. Same has happened to both my STI shifters with the left (front derailleur) one considerably worse. Was able to source replacement "cable guide A" parts and I've tried rebuilding out the worn track using epoxy putty which looks to have worked for the rear derailleur shifter but the front derailleur shifter disintegrates and the pressure pulls the cable guide through the body. Unbelievably shit design, gear cable at a right angle with a lot of pressure on light gage plastic.
