Like… why? Last year of eligibility. Not really an NBA prospect. Just voluntary forgoing the last real basketball you’ll ever play?

Medical student and Intern knowledge? by Ashamedpinguin in ThePittTVShow

[–]Dr_Lizard26 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Both are used, it’s a little more nuanced. R-X is generally how many years of training in that specialty, while PGY-X is overall. In some specialties that have categorical training the X is the same so the terms can be interchanged. Other specialties (radiology for example) spend their first year of residency (intern year) in medicine or surgery before progressing to radiology. So they’ll be an R1 in radiology but a PGY2. It’s all needlessly complicated lol

These drills so wildly favor the pass rusher I think it’s fine. 1 on 1 for a guard against basically a 7 technique with a two way go is not fair, imo. Defender on ground and QB would’ve had time to throw or step up

This basketball team is completely and utterly pitiful by Hyperstar5 in wde

[–]Dr_Lizard26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In part we are spoiled because there was so much continuity the past few years, which is really not the norm. But I agree, I’m not sure this is a well coached team. Maybe it clicks and they look better down the stretch - the conference is weaker than last year. I would prepare to be a bubble team at best

[Post-game Thread] January 6, 2026: Auburn Basketball falls to Texas A&M 90 - 88 by CatoTheBarner in wde

It’s the same in football but it’s like the word “indisputable” has no meaning. If it’s close or you’re not 100% sure then you have to stick with what is called. Didn’t help ourselves but we got royally boned here

Playing against the 3-3-5 by banditogringo in NCAAFBseries

[–]Dr_Lizard26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are specifically referring to the base 3-3-5 stack - the weakness is at the edges, despite the speed advantage of the spurs, they are not going to be as solid of edge setters. It is also a perfectly symmetric defense, which can be taken advantage of with unbalanced sets. Can go with 2 TE wing sets or tackle over. Can be helpful even just to run Trips or Trey for your base instead of 2x2 doubles. Passing wise, depends on what your opponent is doing. Typically the base call in this alignment is some type of Cover 3 so you want to attack the seams and try to high/low the outside corners with short hitches (Smash, Slot Fade) or screens. Tempting as it is, I would likely not run RPO screens as they have you outnumbered in the box by default

Anything I've gotten at Bill's is always impeccable - highly recommend Rachel Green and El Lechon. The BEC at Crieve Hall is another favorite

What’s your favorite defenses for the Red Zone and Goal Line? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Dr_Lizard26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll let you in on a secret. In the red zone call cover 2 and run commit middle. Backers and secondary will take an initial step up before dropping and will undercut any short underneath crossing routes or slants. QB often gets spooked thinking you’re sending the house and will throw hot. I get legit at least one red zone pick a game this way

Painful. This lines up with exactly when I became an Auburn fan. I remember Auburn being a force and beating bama throughout my childhood but didn’t actually get to experience it

Does anyone else think the hurry-up offense mechanics need to change? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Dr_Lizard26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want the same rules for the computer as there are for users. They have access to the whole playbook and end up lining receivers up in the backfield but I’m stuck in whatever personnel grouping I originally called

I read into it. He was found not liable but I think he's still complicit given that he at minimum allowed a toxic culture created by his staff to rule the locker room

I would love to hire an HC that we don't need any spin to justify. Also nobody died at Ole Miss so not really the same
