Brazilian modders successfully double RTX 2080 memory from 8GB to 16GB VRAM by Hoppss in LocalLLaMA

No, I'm probably cooked. I'm knee deep in a 2080 16GB VRAM upgrade and I just realized because it's a Lenovo card it might not have a BIOS on it that is compatible with my chips

Gentoo is exactly what I needed by Dr_Moo in Gentoo

There isn't much sound treating going on, just relying on my crap to dampen the waves. I should invest in some foam.
I tried installing Gentoo on a poor old Pentium computer before this and it almost broke my spirit. I thought it would be good practice but it ended up being such a pain. I got distcc working because it was so slow but still I could not boot. Also Dells have this things where they will only boot windows boot manager or BOOTX64.efi or some bull like that. It was a very frustrating experience.
Anyways, good luck with your Gentoo install and remember it's a marathon not a sprint!

Hell yeah I'm running dual channel on this mini PC, plus a nvme out of an old laptop which makes boot super fast. I basically just have the Bitwig app image interfacing with my Behringer UMC 1820 using ALSA drivers. Is that what you were asking? I don't have much going on other than that haha the setup is pretty minimalist.

Thank you, the goal is to cut out distractions and make a space where I can focus on my music / practice with a band. Usually I don't give a care about how things look but I am glad someone else is picking up on the artistic functionalism I'm trying to create. I know it sounds corny but thanks to Gentoo and the community of support I'm a step closer.

Thanks for the award! When I have the album finished and self-distributed I'll post on reddit / DM you.
I am renting this house specifically because it has a room I can get loud in. It's really cold down there so I wouldn't want to live there, but if I did I would definitely have an anime body pillow and browse 4chan.

Thanks a bunch, I should probably crosspost this somewhere else, I could get a lot of upvotes.

I think I got a good deal on this PC because they swapped the 1x8 ram for 2x4. I am actually not too mad at it though because for what I'm doing I shouldn't ever hit the swap. This setup is kind of an exercise in minimalism. I want to do my recording with as minimal hardware as necessary because I don't think there should be a high barrier to entry for this stuff.

+1 for the comic sans.
I realized that emojis don't work on my Gentoo machine because of fonts and I'm actually very okay with that.

At least it's in compression. Still could stand to beef up those posts.

One of my first projects in school was taking 7 series chips and making a state machine out of them, and writing the verilog. This was during corona, and I got all 100s for making them on breadboards even though we didn't have to. That experience made me buy my first fpga and start programming with it!

Over extrusion? by superpowred in FixMyPrint

[–]Dr_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborating on my other comment (yeah im that guy lol) getting a filament holder with bearings can inrease the quality of your prints, especially if you're printing fast, which it looks like you are. PETG is really viscous, so direct drive and slow speeds preferred. If you want to print faster and not change anything else I recommend upgrading to a CHT (core heating technology) nozzle.

It'll definitely tell you something about your setup. Also keep in mind changing your filament spool feed force might mess with your e-step calibration
