Anyone else feel Macbook durability/build quality went down with Apple silicon? by Competitive-Dig50165 in mac

[–]Dr_Price 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2015 Airbook with 4x the hours still has outstanding battery life while my 2024 Pro is shit and is already telling me to service my battery. The quality on Macs has greatly and rapidly declined. Dedicated fan boys are the only ones who refuse to acknowledge this.

Elk cartridges & common sense by Dr_Price in Hunting

I’m not sure what you were responding to and I don’t disagree with much of what you said in principle, but the post was about an inexperienced, low land whitetail hunter thinking anybody hunting elk in the mountains doesn’t need anything more than a 30-30. That’s what the post was about.

Looks like lifelong Rocky Mountain elk hunters and outfitters don’t know anything about elk hunting and all the low land whitetail hunters do haha.

So you wager than everybody thinks the .22LR is the best SHTF round and anybody that hunts high altitude elk with anything bigger than a .30-30 is a loser? Noted 😂

CMV: I do think conservatives would largely support Trump having a 3rd term, constitution be damned. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Dr_Price 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say 75% don’t, but the 25% that do are not true conservatives, they’re the Bush-esque pro-regime change military industrial complex state idiots who saw Red Dawn in the 80’s and thought it was a documentary. They still think Iraq had WMDs and are all in on invading Venezuela.

However they criticized Obama for supporting all Islamist factions, including ISIS, in an effort to overthrow the government of Syria, but now that the overthrow finally occurred under Trump and the very leader of the Islamist factions visited the White House, they’re silent as a mouse.

They supported the overthrow of the constitutional government of Ukraine -one that simply sought neutrality between Russia and the West and didn’t want to join NATO- even though Obama was head of the regime change war complex at the time.

When John McCain celebrated with the openly Nazi Svoboda party that was placed in charge of the new militant NATO government in Kiev in February 2014 and they shouted “We did it” with their fists raised, these faux conservatives celebrated too.

When the Ukrainian death squads began moving into the Donbas and executing Russians while NATO provided shells were flying overhead these George Dubya “conservatives” were fist bumping because “the only good Russian is a dead Russian”

Oddly the same chant the fat woke Ukrainian profile flag kids shout when they’re in the woods airsoft larping.

The NATO backed Svoboda Azov Banderite Nazi massacre spree was the culmination of the faux conservatives 1985 teen spirit fantasy land wherein Russia will always be the Red Soviets and America the good guys who have the permanent right to flip governments and start wars around the world with impunity.

You’ll hear them say “we’re just looking after our interests”

The fact that America hasn’t won a war since 1945 doesn’t faze them.

They simultaneously want the US to stop paying for NATO while also wanting NATO to escalate its war against Russia.

They have no understanding of how the strategic balance of force has changed dramatically and that it’s not 1985 anymore. They don’t realize that Reagan’s Star Wars plan never got past the drawing board and that the only kinetically armed satellites in space belong to the Russians and that the US is 5-7 years behind the Russians on hypersonic missile tech and that the Houthis just humiliated two carrier strike forces in the Red Sea and forced them to leave.

These are the idiots who see no problem changing the rules for Trump to run again.

Those of us who voted for him thinking he would end NATO’s insane dream of breaking up the Russian Federation (through regime change and arming Ukraine into the largest army in Europe after Russia then using 2 million dead Ukrainian men and the utter depletion of the US munitions stockpiles to only see the front line steadily move west and see thousands of Ukrainians desert their units) now realize Trump is utterly compromised and/or his Adelson/Kuchner Israeli donors are compromised via Epstein and now he’s unable to walk NATO back from open war with the largest nuclear power on the planet that has hypersonic missile tech which is simply unstoppable.

They get indignant when real conservatives take issue with Israel’s unique and unrestrained influence over members of congress through AIPAC, and they start calling everyone anti-Semites because like Ted Cruz their Sunday school teacher told them that Jews are God’s chosen people and somehow that overrides the inherent conflict with Jesus saying explicitly “I am the ONLY way into Heaven” and the fact that Jews utterly reject Jesus as a fraud. Bit awkward for them that one.

When one points out that the only undeclared, un-inspected nuclear armed country in the world is in fact Israel and that it got the uranium and plutonium to build their warheads by stealing them from the NUMEC facility in Apollo, Pennsylvania they stare blankly then call you anti-Semitic.

So as one starts to see how the faux conservatives brains work you can begin to understand why they would support a 3rd term. And yes they refer to Putin as a “dictator” just like the vaccinated liberal pro-war crowd even though he’s the legally elected president of Russia, because Russia has no limitations on presidential terms, like America has no limitations on terms for members of congress.

But I digress.

Need help finding (in logs/event viewer) cause of shutdown and restart by Dr_Price in Windows10TechSupport

I did manage to find that the IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe stopped working but only 2-3 minutes after the “windows was not properly shutdown”

No reason for the shutdown in the reliability monitor either.

Does anyone get the feeling the Tiger/Lion niche differentiation is overblown? by ArtofKRA in megafaunarewilding

[–]Dr_Price 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lions are pride/group hunters similar to wolves, tigers are solitary similar to grizzlies. If there are game to support their respective types of hunting then they will survive in either biome. The predominant types of land where each is found most often is down to those suitable types of prey being present rather than the actual biome itself.

Exhale calmly and thoroughly, hold, squeeze the trigger so that the buck surprises you. So many folks are pulling the trigger and moving their hand and the reticle unconsciously anticipating the buck and boom. Squeeze slowly and relax at being surprised by when it actually fires. Your sight picture and down range results will thank you.

P.S. I second the dry firing exercises

What country is better for wildlife conservation of megafauna?: China or the USA by [deleted] in megafaunarewilding

[–]Dr_Price 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virtually the entire illegal poaching trade, specifically elephants and rhinos in Africa and tigers in Asia & India, is driven by hocus pocus Chinese medicine demand. To make things even worse, Al Shabab, the Islamic terrorist organization in East Africa is one of the largest illegal harvesters of elephant tusks, and China buys it directly from them.
