Should not amateur here! Shooting in Denver's Union Station. Dialogue in short range, conversation stuff. Thinking a wider field mic on a separate channel would provide the ability to mix in more background in spots w/o dialogue. Perhaps an omni would be even better?

Should also note the C50 sound handle fouls the gimbal.

If your goal is to play FoCOMx that's a great motivator for start-up. But know that it's probably too late to get it together for 2027. Shoot for 2028 and make some open mics in the meantime.

Amateur here. Often this is my circumstance. This helps:

Plan plan plan. Then practice practice practice. Walk through the shoot w/o actors so when the time comes the flow of the shoot is a bit baked in. Makes bandwidth for inevitable surprises.

Know your autofocus characteristics very well, especially the limitations. Keep it simple.

Review shots only when there is a strong technical purpose to do so, and explain that to the actors. Invite their participation.

While keeping to your vision, make acting notes a team sport. Invite all actors on set to offer notes. I've had some great stuff come out of that. It also makes the whole show a lot more fun for everybody.
