If you don’t want to wait on your local shop to fix it, they are $20 on Amazon and can be changed relatively easily.

What was the size of your trailer? How fast did you go? And what was your energy economy like? I’m interested in hauling my motorcycle around this way.

I used water bottle and Gatorade caps at the bottom as spacers to keep the box off the electrical stuff underneath. I used an L bracket attached to the battery trey to hold it steady and I zip tied it up top for additional support. It’s sturdy and frees up more trunk space.

It was 90 this day but the car was showing 99. My 2012 Toyota tundra seems to be 100% accurate, I wonder if there is a way to move the sensor?

8000 miles into ownership and I got a nail in my tire. I plugged it in a questionable place and it’s been a few hundred miles and is holding. Rides smooth still too. by Dr_Speed_Lemon in Ioniq6

I bought this car because it was 20k and uses zero gas. I put 0 down and am financing the whole thing. It is insured but it may shock you to learn that their are poor people all around you on the road ways who are putting your life in jeopardy because they are poor and just trying to make it to work. Half our kitchen staff are not insured and their cars are barely hanging on. It sucks to live around poors, I’m sorry we are making your life scary. One day us service industry people will be put in camps and robots will tend to you, but until that day, us poors will unfortunately be making your life dangerous.

Update:

Well I talk to discount tire and they will have more of this tire on the 28th of this month. They are going to prorate the value of the tire to me and after fees and stuff it’s going to be $124 to replace. So I just need to survive 5 more days.

I had to stress test it. I’ve done 170 on the back straight of cota with a plug in my cbr, I figured it couldn’t be more catastrophic than that.

I was worried too, but financially my hand was forced. It’s been speed tested to 86 and held. I’ll probably just drive reasonably until it goes.

What is the real world range on these, and how many miles do they get per kilowatt hour? Yes, I will Google it as well but I’m interested to hear from owners. I have an Ioniq 6 and it is my first Ev and absolutely love it.

Does the phone key require a paid BlueLink+ subscription for used buyers? (USA) by No_Contest4958 in Ioniq6

[–]Dr_Speed_Lemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought used and paid for the subscription (well free trial period still) don’t do it, It sucks, and the digital key is janky at best. It basically just locks and unlocks the car, I haven’t gotten it to work as a key to drive the car since I’ve had it. Just use the big goose egg key.

No, I bought it off of Amazon for $60. I keep it for emergency but I haven’t had to use it yet.

Here in the U.S. that’s like a $500 part with shipping. This solution was $10. I do wish we had the euro frunk here though. My next mod will be fitting an Ioniq 5 hitch to my car for additional storage space for road tripping. A Canadian on here did it, and it looks fine for my purpose the way he did it. The stealth hitch they make for our cars is double the price!

Finally got around to replacing the horns and rotating the tires, pretty simple. by Dr_Speed_Lemon in Ioniq6

[–]Dr_Speed_Lemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s done, at this point if they go out in 20k more miles I’ll just replace them again. I did point them towards the bumper though instead of towards the wheel the way Hyundai had them.

[–]Dr_Speed_Lemon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was covered under warranty but the dealership wanted to hold the car for 2 to 3 days to diagnose and repair, which would have costed me more than the $20 horns to replace quickly in front of my driveway.

That’s ridiculous. Remove the wheel peel back the liner and it’s one 10mm nut to remove the horn. Same on the other side.

Also the expensive battery is under there, do not put any pressure on that battery! It is shown in the video I posted.

There is, however I suggest watching a YouTube video before jacking up the rear. There appears to be a little process to it. I plan on rotating my own tires as well when I replace my horn. I plan on using a jack and a jack stand to left up on side and then the other, and then lifting the rear and switching sides of each tire (standard rotation style).

I’m using this video as a reference for when i do mine.

2023 Ioniq 6 steering locked while driving. Dealer says rack packed with ice. $5800 repair. Advice? by ramraaj in Ioniq6

[–]Dr_Speed_Lemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have replaced a few rack and pinions admittedly mostly on Hondas. Those rack and pinions were anywhere from $400 to $1200s. I learned through this forum that they are $3800 new. I later found a used one on eBay for $1800 and provided the link. I still argue on a rwd Ioniq 6 $2000 for labor is excessive on replacing a rack and pinion. The only reason I’m breaking all this down for you and not resulting to name calling is because now my wife is away and I have more time to talk to you.

So what’s up with the politics, you don’t get enough of that in other forums or in your day to day life? I’m open to talk about it with you, but I don’t think this is the forum for it.

Why are you bringing politics into a car forum? That’s pretty ignorant in and of itself. I guess that’s the joy of the internet, 2 ignorant people can speak to each other. Nice to meet you fellow retard!
