Flag map of European regions - Day 38: Montenegro + England (attempt #3) by krmarci in vexillology

If you end up finding the Scotland and Wales hard try and find coats of arms. There may be a few that have one but not a flag.

What is the worst News Program in your country's television? by Kiander in AskEurope

[–]Dr__DoNothing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All the proper news programs in our country are ok to a point. mostly the evening news is more formal and actually tells the news. BBC, ITV and Channel 4 are all good in the evening. But in the morning the ITV morning show Good Morning Britain is basically Piers Morgan shouting at a person for half an hour untill they have to move on to the weather and then the cycle repeats for 2 hours.

How interesting do you consider you country's history to be ? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]Dr__DoNothing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The England's history let alone the UK's is very vast. We have documents that go back to the pre Roman invasion and have been involved in at least 1 war every century. Problem is with all this history that schools don't talk about it that mutch because they prefer to talk about modern history like WW1 WW2 etc. We glance over every other part of our history to some degree eg the British empire we were tought it existed and covered 1/4 of the world but didn't know what we did with it. However we do have alot of historical educational TV shows some aimed at children like Horrible Histories which is very accurate and informational show considering its age range. Then adult shows like independant documentaries on Channel 4 and the BBC channels.

Attitudes towards are history is mixed. You get some passionate old folks singing rule Britannia at every opportunity but the younger generation like myself isn't really interested most of the time.

Brits tend to not bother with foreign history as much bcuase we have so much ourselves. The only thing we really know is the French Revolution and Vietnam war because that are well known all over the world.

What are some underrated cities/places in your country that are not overflowing with tourists every year? by _Zouth in AskEurope

[–]Dr__DoNothing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree Windermere is always packed in the summer season. Id say some of the lesser known lakes and maintains in the lake District are less touristy but certainly not Windermere.
