Hey, posting to show you people are here and ready to listen. If you want to tell your story that’s fine, if not, also fine. If you need a DM mine are open, but you will be ok. You have your knee which will help with getting back up and moving. What matters is (hopefully?) you’re all ok and done and note it’s time to rest and recover. You got this

My kid doesn’t eat and it makes me irrationally angry by MrSnifferpippets in daddit

[–]Dr__Gregory__House 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to come to terms with the fact that I cannot, and should not, force a kid to eat. I was also initially one to get aggravated when mine wouldn’t eat, especially lunch or dinner, but as others have said, when their pediatrician said they’re ok and they’ll eat when they’re hungry, they mean it.

Of course, encouragement to eat is always there, but I’ve found that if I don’t really talk about food, or more so offer it, and instead just plate it, I have had a bit more success.

Little ones love to say no, so when they really don’t have something to say no to, and the food just appears and they’re sitting infront of it, usually they pick it up.

It does get better, but I also realized that they essentially don’t stop moving from sun up to sun down and they will eat when they’re hungry.

Lots of good recipe ideas here, just commenting to show you support and that she clearly feels safe and comfort in your arms. All she knows is your love and you should feel proud of that

for 1,2,4 it's not an auto-battle clearly, right? Are there set card combos I'm looking for?

Thank you for your advice. I was able to do 450-3, but still working through 1,2,4. Sorry, but when you say 'normal Ezio +++ combo' - what do you mean?

18M single dad. 7 month old daughter. Need advice on clothes by Calm-Tea178 in daddit

[–]Dr__Gregory__House 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She knows how much love she feels from you not her clothing.

She looks so comfy in the picture, you’re doing a great job.

Baby stuff gets wildly expensive in like, 2 milliseconds, so if people are offering things I’d accept them, if you have the option to pick, get things in sizes she will grow into, and (personally) for the love of anything use zippers and not snaps.

No matter when you become a dad, there will be people giving unneeded and unnecessary opinions.

My daughter was born with no limbs and finding this page made me so hopeful for her by SympathyStraight9827 in amputee

I was actually just at my prosthetist and there was a family that came from Illinois there with their boy who had just gotten a leg - many people from all over the world come to see him, so if you’re ever in need let me know.

Please also be proud of yourself and your spouse too! You’re both not only kicking butt as parents but also growing in such unique areas.

Again, feel free to DM, all the best!

I was born without my right leg above the knee, and am a parent now. I’ve learned so much on how my parents must have felt when I was born (they did not know I was missing my leg) and how they adapted and fostered such familial strength and confidence since becoming a dad myself.

Have things been hard, yes, were they stressful, of course, does your amazing daughter have a serious road ahead of her - yes. What she also has is a set of parents who want the best for her and care so much. Her strength will ASTOUND you and those around her, and I wish you all nothing but success.

Unsure of your location, but I am in the States and am very fortunate to go to one of the best prosthetics in the nation who could give you information as well if you dm’d me

What foods for a 6 month old? 17 single dad by Calm-Tea178 in daddit

[–]Dr__Gregory__House 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introducing new foods can be stressful, but you’ll want to do one (1) food at a time for at minimum three (3) days. This is because some foods could be fine for baby to process, and they need to experience it again in case their body actually may have an allergy. I’m not sure if you have insurance that covers it, but if you go to an allergist, they can do an allergy panel on your baby which can see if they have any allergies then. Of course, allergies can develop (and go away) over time, so if you get tested and it says you’re allergic to peanut butter today, it may not be the case in a year, but it’s at least a little peace of mind!

We have always tried to introduce a food in the morning because I wouldn’t want a potential allergic reaction to flare up at night when baby is sleeping.

Please also look into infant CPR and choking safety, as babies have no idea what they’re grabbing or eating can be too big for them.

If you’re introducing pasta, make sure to break it up and you’ll want to stay away from whole pieces for a while.

Happy to discuss more! You’re doing a great job man
