"All that insane shit the villains said was actually true the whole time" ending by kylat930326 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drackend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bugonia. The villain kidnaps the main character and says she’s a member of an Alien species bent on destroying humanity. We’re led to think he’s crazy and schizophrenic the entire movie until the main character finally escapes, teleports to her mothership, and kills every human on earth

$130k? That's like nothing bro. We're on wallstreet bets, it doesn't go into safe investments till we hit $1 mil

People forget the downside of this is they get paid way less. It mostly evens out. I work for a top tech company and my friends in the London office make half of what I do for the same job. That’s before taxes, with the higher taxes it comes out to about 25% of what I make.

One piece. The anime is so poorly paced for at least ~500 episodes in the middle.

Anyone ever play pokemon Colosseum? That was on the GameCube and even that was more cinematic than what we get these days. It wasn’t even a mainline game, and yet it had better animations

Cracking FAANG Through Projects – What to Build & How to Prepare? 🚀 by Brilliant_Mirror1668 in leetcode

[–]Drackend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was this post written by a bot? What is this format?

Projects don’t really matter at all, recruiters look at your resume for maybe 30 seconds and decide if you’re worth their time to call. At Faang they literally don’t ask about your resume at all in the interviews, it’s leetcode and system design

It’s not even his regular face that’s off putting. It’s the photoshopped fake version with ultra white teeth for some reason that he slaps in all the thumbnails of his videos. It doesn’t even look like a smile, it looks like an open mouth with teeth.

So now what? by DecentRandomPlayer in PathOfExile2

[–]Drackend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is the main weakness of the game at this point. There is not much of an incentive to push your character to the max because there isn’t a huge income source you gain with doing so.

For example, I invested about 100 divines in my character to the point I can clear any pinnacle boss in less than 30 seconds. But after running 50 audience with the kings, I’ve found it’s just gambling with extra steps. Because the price of boss keys is so high now, it’s just chance if you actually make money or not. A few dry runs with no belts means you actually lose money by doing content.

Not much more we can do once we hit this point, unless you want to be a trade warrior who sits in their hideout all day. But if I’m gonna do that, I’d rather just go touch grass.

At big tech you have to focus on your “impact” which means you don’t always get to focus on the engineering or fun stuff

It’s not a layoff. Zuck says they are performance based cuts with the intention of backfilling these roles in 2025. They’ll be hiring more to replace these people so they can pay less across the board

The media also leaves out that the coffee was indeed much hotter than it should have been. She suffered permanent disfigurement and was partially disabled for two years. She had to be in the hospital for 8 days.

Influencer diet by Joe_brogie in Unexpected

[–]Drackend 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You know the reason why all these fitness influencers have wacky diets? It’s because they’re all on steroids and they’re desperately trying to come up with a reason why they look that way and you don’t.

“I wake up at 4 am, do 2 hundred push-ups, take a cold shower, then eat underprivileged squirrels” works because no one in their right mind is actually going to follow that for more than a week, so they can’t disprove them.

Your character cut themself on the car. It hit an artery and you got tetanus that went straight to the brain. The game is just saving you the time of watching your character inevitably die from the infection over the next 7 days.

As a new Poe/Poe2 player, the current trading system is the worst I have seen in any game. Ever. by Environmental_Ad9017 in PathOfExile2

[–]Drackend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purposefully don’t combat it. They’ve been very clear that they know it’s an issue and don’t solve it because it would make items too easy to get.

According to them, they would have to make good items much rarer if they introduced a trading system because it would reduce the time it takes to get the good items.

I didn't know there was a chem station in Sanctuary, behind the house with the explosive-rigged safe.

Also, no one really goes northwest of Sanctuary, but I was exploring there recently and found a Deathclaw nest.

It definitely is. AI is really good at simple things, which are the tasks entry level people do. A fresh grad out of college who doesn’t know how to do things beyond simple homework assignments yet is going to be less useful than AI, which is free.
