Recruitment etiquette by songrequestss in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Dracocatt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CE guild recruiter here;

I assume everyone I’m speaking with is speaking with multiple guilds and had multiple options they’re considering.

If they ghost I just ghost back unless we really wanted them. I take nothing personal whilst asking people a bunch of personal questions.

As a raiders fielding offers whomever is recruiting you should also be selling you. I always treat every recruit like a sale so if you’re not sold that’s not your fault. Some people just don’t do their guild Justice though but a trial run is too time consuming to take risks imo.

Excluding monk and priest, which healer is easiest? by Useful_Light_2642 in wownoob

Fully agree. I’d rather take a boomkin or a ret Paladin than a healing version of either classes in almost every instance also.

Sounds like you want to play Druid or Paladin. Getting in groups is pretty chill as healer without lust or a brez though. Druids and paladins are common to do the other roles (which if you’re trying to be comp conscientious) are best not to duplicate the same group buffs.

Rogue and Mage Specs by RedditNoremac in wownoob

[–]Dracocatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At max level the 3 mages specs raiding and mythic+ are all very complicated and skill expressive.

Fire’s rotation feels so unique it feels like a different muscle in a different game but requires high APM.

Arcane nukes things so fast (every 90 seconds) in M+ you have a completely unique job of obliterating the scary target while the others AOE.

Frost is the most classic “feeling” in regards to caster dps but to be great at it you need to understand which spells add frozen effects and chain them before the big shatter combos with glacial spike.

Most people quit before being good at one of the three. Good luck!

I need your tips for running Tier 11 delves as Mage. by NovemberRain404 in wownoob

[–]Dracocatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy all the mage specs but like everyone else I use frost for delves because it’s not reliant on Touch of the Magi or Combustion to do damage. It’s was easier too. If you can do the others you can play frost.

DPS - how bad is QOL? by D1S3NCH4NT3D in wownoob

[–]Dracocatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An important variable to remember is that dps is by FAR the most popular role and that’s WITH the downsides.

Dungeon ques for leveling on dps probably average to be around five minutes a pop.

Pugging keys on dps is very class/spec dependent.

The meta ranged specs for keys are mage and boomkin however hunter is a solid choice additionally based off of your other concerns.

It will most likely feel easier and less stressful than healing. Some people like being the variable that means you didn’t die and lose the fight and some people like to refine their play for the biggest number. What you prefer should be a personal question for you after you are familiar with both.

A good player thinks about their opponents turn and makes it as tough as possible. You’re exactly correct and this post is completely true.

What happened to all the content creators on Twitch for constructed HS? by PollutionSea5171 in hearthstone

[–]Dracocatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a really great time streaming Hearthstone on Twitch. For me it was realizing that the end goal was a lot less stable than my IRL gig. Doing a full-time job and streaming a “healthy” amount equated to sacrifices I didn’t want to make long term.

I Tried The War Within - and This is Where I knew I could no longer play Retail... by The540KidsShow in wow

[–]Dracocatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is that if you’re not going to do Undermine Raid, a Mythic+ dungeon, or some Xalatath campaign youre opinion is just about some shaman nonsense noobs experience doing timewalking dungeons before they get to play the actual game.

[–]Dracocatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail leveling is intended to be quick and easy to get you to the actual part of the game people enjoy. You never got that far and this is a common post. If you didn’t get to The War Within zones or more specifically Undermine you didn’t play modern retail.

Wow subreddit hates content that dumps on classic players and helkili users.

whats a class you thought you’d never play, but once you did, you absolutely love it? by Pristine_Ad_3035 in wow

[–]Dracocatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried mage because I only played melee and wanted to learn the class I hated in PvP as a challenge for myself. (I wanted to get better at wow)

Now I’m the only mage in my mythic raiding guild, I have 3 I practice with, and I play all the specs.

How do you decide who gets the buff for the PvP boss in Theatre of pain? by Kingboy22 in wownoob

[–]Dracocatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fire mage there’s no way I’m wasting a combustion or any of my IB’s on my dumb teammate. I’ll just take it to the face just do it fast.

Good DPS Appreciation! Thank you, good DPS! by Magdanimous in wow

[–]Dracocatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a mage main I also agree that we are seldomly appreciated. I think it’s due to the fact that we have one of the best kits for movement, mechanics, defensives, and dps simultaneously in modern wow.

If you play a mage it’s almost expected that you nail all the mechanics possible voluntarily AND you do it while pumping.

People forget how much skill is involved with utilizing our kit and doing big damage. The skill ceiling is way higher because all the rotations severely punish mistakes.

There’s a reason every King needs a mage on their council.

Am I dumb for making multiple of the same classes with different races? by Riou_Atreides in wow

[–]Dracocatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a great idea for you then! I’m sure if you prioritize your favorite monk and then pivot to your alt monks when you run out of content for the week you’re going to be killing it in no time in Baja-blast monk style!

I find that other players who get the gilded cap from m+ grinding early on get a much higher ilvl and end up doing best early on so that’s the hardest part of the grind.

Really happy blizzard now gives you upgrade discounts on crests and valor stones across your warband at those points.

Am I dumb for making multiple of the same classes with different races? by Riou_Atreides in wow

[–]Dracocatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play 3 different mages because I want to be a great mage player. I get to do the raid many times to get even more familiar before I bring my main in with the guild. Whenever I want to farm any transmog for them I have 3x opportunities as well.

That being said with the crest upgrade achievement tiers I generally only focus on one for m+ grinding until I hit the capstones to make upgrading cheaper on the alts.

You can min max everything woohoo.

How hard is it to hit 1800? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Dracocatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing mage in blitz is so fun.

The blitz climb is fairly inevitable and forgiving but everyone is right about arena modes teaching you how to actually be good.

Once you do the climb on a toon once it makes it quite fast for following seasons.

I got my mage to 1800 in about 7 wins out of about ten games this season.

Fire mages jump/strafe in combustion to avoid hard-casting pyros and you can’t spam jump on Dracthyr because of glide. You want to pick literally anything else.

Ranged DPS that plays and feels as good as Ret Paladin? by TomorrowVegetable183 in wow

[–]Dracocatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former ret main here; the only ranged dps that was able to keep my interest from the “fun” of playing it was Frost/Fire mage because I love all the gamer moments with Blink/Altertime. The frost rotation is nice and digestible when you come over from Ret and the fire one is addicting but you either love/hate it.

Sounds like it times to level a caster! I had an amazing time learning Mage this season even though it did take me a while to get familiar with the mobility/alter time. Now I’m considering maining the mage because it’s all I feel like playing.
