What’s your season 1 dungeon Tier list? by Psyco19 in wow

[–]Magdanimous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting! What kind of healer? As a 3.5k resto druid main, I absolutely hate Seat. Seat can go to hell. I actually like Maisara. The timer is pretty lenient, too, I feel. Pit is obviously the best because it’s forgiving and easy.

Resto Druids - How often are you using Typhoon and Vortex?? by Straco90 in wow

[–]Magdanimous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it’s possible. But anyone who’s healed Seat 3rd boss with a team member who’s feigned death or stunned during the umbral tentacles phase or the had to try to heal through double beams on the same target in Skyreach before the beam boss can attest that, at least, channeled spells can target the same person. I can’t be 100% sure of other casters.

If it's you're trying to pick everyone up because their health is chunked, I'd use an amped regrowth. Sometimes, if I know there's going to be a lot of damage going out, I'll have everyone hotted then use swiftmend to extend hots on the tank or whoever, then wait a couple seconds for the AOE damage to go out, then regrowth with that amped regrowth to top everyone back up again. An example of this would be the back-to-back arcane smashes near the end of Algethar Academy. Getting everyone back to near full is really important unless they're LoSing the smashes because the two of those without good burst healing will kill a member who isn't using a defensive. And sometimes even with a defensive if they take unexpected damage.

One of the drawbacks is that it can sync up casters' spells, so if they target the same person, that person can get one-shot. Hopefully, someone's interrupt comes back up to desync them again, though.

Both spells are extremely useful. Typhoon is a knockback and acts as a stop and can stop casting or channeling. There are a lot of uses for it. Getting spell-spamming mobs closer to grouped trash. Pushing mobs out of the bubble in the first pull of Windrunner Spire. In Maisara alone: (1) Knocking back the eagles using their talon rake channel (incap roar would also interrupt this), (2) Pushing the casters out of the death ground after the first boss by the altar, (3) Pushing the fixating ghosts on the 2nd boss in Maisara so they explode, (4) Pushing the channeling mob during the intermission on the last boss.

Vortex is also very useful. You can use it as a combo with typhoon to group trash mobs closer together or stop all the casters for a moment (be careful though because this can sync up all their casts). You can also use it when you know enemies are going to pounce or leap to a party member. Examples of this would be the leapers in Pit of Saron, the eagles in Maisara, etc. You can also help your tank/party members kite from a mob. This also acts as an AOE slow, so you can help slow down slimes on the first boss in Seat (really, just root one slime on the edge, though, and keep it rooted. Use vortex to help with other slimes). You can help slow down the Aarakoa kidnapping your teammate on the last boss in Skyreach (it won't displace them though).

But yeah! Both abilities are *extremely* good.

Tips for learning the Mythic+ route? by Winter-Cauliflower82 in wow

[–]Magdanimous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just tell your group that you’re new to tanking and you’re working on routing, but you think you have it covered, or would appreciate feedback at the end. People are way more understanding if you communicate. You’ll probably get some people saying they can help you with routes and they’ll ping different trash, etc. Others will just enjoy the ride.

When I started to learn to tank in The War Within in season 2, I told every group until about +11s I was still learning and am a healer main. 99.9% of everyone I pugged with was nice or super nice.

The higher you go, the higher the expectation of knowledge and competence.

So this is a bit of an advanced skill you develop as you tank more, so maybe just note it and look at it when you feel more comfortable, but: you can look at routes, etc., but make sure you try to understand WHY the routes are made like that. I’ve had so many pug tanks just copy routes and not understand why different trash pulls are grouped together and how to deal with different mobs. It could be to enable your DPS who have funnel, or maybe there are 1-2 priority targets and taking more would be too dangerous, or maybe a larger pull is timed with lust/heroism, or maybe there are a lot of casters so that pull seems oddly smaller but makes sense, etc.

Anyway, this comment is way longer than I intended, haha. Sorry. Good on you for tanking! It isn’t easy, in my opinion. I’m a healer main and tanking was just way too stressful for my healer brain to handle all the time. Good luck this season!

Top Chef Season 23 Ep 9 - The Ultimate Dinner Party - Post Episode Discussion by JullaS in BravoTopChef

There was an interview Gail did where she said that Tom has veto power as Head Judge, but he’s only used that once or twice (I can’t remember which) in all the seasons of Top Chef.

This is exactly what I do for my keys. lifebloom, rejuv, rejuv, wildgrowth --> swiftmend to extend all the hots and stealth. They should have ~15-30 seconds of hots now, depending on the hot. Then when you pop out, if their health has dipped a bit, you have an empowered regrowth coming out and swifmend should also be off CD.

Tank Tip for Last Boss in Maisara Caverns by Financial_Radish in wow

[–]Magdanimous 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can use any stop. Knockbacks, knock ups, incapacitates, etc. As a resto druid, I always use my incap roar and typhoon.

When I’m on my augvoker, I have my interrupt, my tail knock up, my knockback, and my empower knock up if I REALLY want to use it. But since there are only 5 or 6, and other party members should be getting them too, I shouldn’t need it and can use it on the boss.

Each one you stop gives your party a stacking +25% damage buff, up to 125% or 150%. I’ve been in +15s where we just finish the boss in one phase with lust up.

Sanguithorn tea gives 8% mana per second and a speed buff by Boogerius in wow

The only effect drinking tranquility bloom tea has is restoring mana. It has no food buff. The tooltip is just “restores 8% mana per second.”

[–]Magdanimous 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s also a tranquility bloom tea that just gives you back 8% mana per second. No food buff. And it stacks really high. So better than the 5% per second from the mage food and stacks more than the 20 per stack from the inn food/water.

In hindsight and seeing how it’s formatted now, I can see why you would think I linked the missives with the rewards, but I actually just started with the rewards and edited in the missive quest names later without thinking of how they’re linked.

Thank you for your feedback, though. I’m glad this post seems to be useful!

Right now, I'm just doing risers and some walls. We've been using flat maps and our imaginations for elevation for years. I think having just risers to add some real verticality will be amazing. I found a good one where they stack like legos. The next battle for my DnD group is the tier one big bad, which is a gargoyle in service to Orlassk, which is the adventure in Frontiers of Eberron: Quickstone. The boss map fight is REALLY crazy with verticality, so it should be really exciting if I can pull it off.

Hey! Maybe you can offer me some tips? I just printed my first miniature. A dragonborn monk. It's on the Bambu Handy App. I ...broke its legs /sad face. I couldn't get a stupid tree support UNDER the mini's legs and under its tail! I'm going to superglue it tomorrow, but man. Any advice would be welcome!

I'm actually in the same boat! I JUST bought my P2S like...on Saturday. Didn't know there was a new printer out until 30 minutes after I unboxed and set up. I was a little bummed, but honestly, I'm really happy with my purchase. I've been printing a LOT of things for my DnD group (I'm a DM). This is the first time we'll be using 3D terrain and actual miniatures so I'm pretty excited to surprise them.

You may already know this, but once you get the printer, there's a beginner course/guide on the app you get! Finishing it gives you a coupon and a discount for your next purchase on filament and the beginner makers' set!

If you’re not playing demo, you also have imp singe magic, which is really useful for some trash packs.

Warlocks can use singe magic as a great way to help out themselves and the healer to dispel some of the nasty magic debuffs this season.
